Hickok45 is a national treasure! I wonder how many people have bought there first firearm because of his teachings. Keep on doing what you do good sir.

Yep, I'm one of them. He got me going on the Old West guns, I'd had been a black powder enthusiast for years. Then I got a Henry lever action Big Boy, then a 1873 Winchester by Uberti of course then I had to have a matching 1873 Colt SAA by Uberti, then a 1892 Winchester and next a 1894 JM Marlin lever. and of course you have to have a Coach Gun so found an old Rossi. Yep, he has definately inspired me and also taught me a great deal. Thank you sir!

The American history lesson is greatly appreciated and so is the firearm. Nice job Italy and Texas- Bellisimo!

Joe Biden was right: a double-barrel shotty is the perfect home defense weapon. Good enough for Doc Holiday to face off at the OK Corral, it’s OK for my corral. (I’m going to pop some corn, now that I mentioned Brandon’s name on a gun channel 😂) But seriously, a double barrel is a GREAT for home defense. Come at me, bro.
What a handsome shotgun! Hickok45 gives the absolute best gun reviews on the internet. For younger shooters, in their 20s-30s, I think he's viewed as a trusted grandfatherly figure who gives solid, wise advice on firearms and life.
This guy is a legend and I'm glad he posts these video's.

The universe cannot align anymore than it has... This is crazy to me, the style of firearms I am trying to acquire just magically pop up here... its a sign or something, already in the process with my local FFL finding a double barrel for me haha!

I know right was just looking at one yesterday day and didn’t know that brand it’s not like the cowboy one little slide thing to change sides kinda high 600 not as bad as that one. But now I see the brand kinda a review little different but guess I’m going to get it. Why just because 🤣😂
If you were to do a 4-Hour video on Doc Holliday I would watch every minute of it thanks for sharing this
Beautiful shotgun. $1700 is pretty steep though lol for me anyway. Cheers, Hickok45

Never saw Tombstone before a week ago. One of my papa's favorite movies. Now I am hooked on it. The "walked over your grave line" is my favorite
Waking up in the morning and seeing a brand new video from Hickok45 is the BEST WAY to start ur day, such positive energy!
Would love to see a comparison between this Pedersoli and the Pietta 1878 Hartford. The Pietta is about $700 less, with a beautiful blued finish, really nice lumber, and without the weird break-latch issue you pointed out on the Pedersoli.

Love double barrels! It is a beautiful gun!!
Wow that shotgun looks so fine and thanks for the history! Can’t wait to see what else you bring out to the range Hickok45!
I love the sound of a break action shotgun closing. It brings back so many memories of my childhood.
That is a beautiful shotgun thank you for reviewing it
I have an uncle who knows a LOT about what happened in Tombstone in the late 1870s and early 1880s. In fact, he was once a student of Arizona's state historian about forty years ago. My uncle said that Holliday was, at one point, a shotgun rider for a stagecoach line. And Holliday used a 10ga shotgun both while riding on a stagecoach and during the gunfight
Im thankful that somebody in Italy is making our old guns. I bought one myself. Paid the high price and got good quality. Thanks italy and thankyou hickock.
I'm your Huckleberry, and that's just my game....
Pushing the lock to close was made if you are on a horse, rough riding. It prevents closing the gun by it self. Mine does the same.

Nice double barrel shotgun thanks for sharing Hickok45
I love your channel!!! I came across it when during the pandemic when I was looking to purchase my first firearm. My eyes light up like a kid at Christmas when I see a new video available. BTW… I’m your Huckleberry!! Since we using Doc Holiday references. Lol
Hello good sir. Thanks for the amazing video. Hoping to see a 10 guage in the future fits the wild west theme
Interesting that the Cimarron/Pedersoli needs to have the lever pushed to close it. I have a Pedersoli coach gun (2023 manufacture) and it does not require the lever to be pushed to close it. I think yours has a manufacturing issue that needs to be checked.
REALLY COOL, TY MR. HICKOK 45 !!!
Beautiful gun, thanks for sharing it with us.
Great review, thanks. CZ also makes a nice hammer coach gun as you probably already know.
Looks simply awesome!
A few months back my local gun store had the Wyatt Earp edison. It was $2200.00. It was beautiful looked at it then handed it back.🤠
Great stuff guys! I would love to see some slo mo with the laughing. Always cracks me up
Hey Hickok. I own this double barrel, had it for some time now. Mine doesn’t need the lever to be actuated in order to close… may be a manufacturers’s defect on yours. Food for thought. Thanks for the great content. Life is good.

Different model bud
Cimarron has the 1878 coach shotgun that has all the features you don't like about that DH model. It has the blued finish, there is no safety, you don't have to work the lever to close the gun and the price is around $600. I am not sure why that DH model is so expensive.
@JJW3

The reason is the basic Cimarron 1878 coach gun is made in China, while the Doc Holiday is made in Italy.

In Europe that Pedersoli shotgun is available under the name "Wyatt Earp".It has a blued barrel and it isn't necessary to push the lever to close it. Nice gun.

Well one of Earps haded the shotgun to Holiday, and Wyatt brought Curly Bill to Justice with one, so the name of that is appropriate
I've always wanted one of those shotguns. I think there so cool. I love the double rabbit ear hammers. You should have bought that young man. That would be a nice addition to your collection. I think he means the Cimarron 1878, which is their hammered SxS. I have one from 2017 and one from this year. Neither require the lever to be pushed in order to close.
"I'm your Huckleberry". 🍻 VERY cool shotgun. Out of my price range, but eventually would love a coach gun like this!
I'm so jealous of that I can't watch this one. Have fun Hickock45
I've got a Cimmaron side by side and yes, you need the slip on rubber butt pad. The metal one is brutal.
I had an old wall hanger made the same way from the mid 1800's made in France ya it was pretty cool
Liked the good gun for the fence in the end😅❤
Nice review of the Pedersoli! Doc Holliday got his doctorate just down the road from me at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dentistry.
I’d like to see you do a video with the rest of Doc Holliday’s guns! Wild Bill as well!

That is really cool. Best regards from Germany 🙂
thats an awesome gun!
I always think that doubles like that are heralded as coach guns and people get all cowboy around them. A couple of years ago I was able to pick up an early 1900s J. Stevens 225 that is about the same size. Rabbit ears. I paid considerably less that yours. It has considerable more wear. I love the character. The seller at the gun show called the pump .22s he collected barn guns. So, I prefer to call mine a barn shotgun. I imagine it spent a lot of it's life leaning up beside the barn door for crows, rats and foxes. The barrels were cut down to 19" or so and the stock shortened. More than likely for a youth or the farmer's wife. I use that same rubber shoulder saver on it mostly to get some length.
I like how Hickok45 doesn’t look or sound any older than in his videos from 10 years ago.
That is just a beautiful shotgun.
That's a pretty shotgun. I do need another cannon like but the cool factor of that shotgun is irresistible and it's a quality gun -
👍I learn so much from your videos. I prefer a Shockwave 12 ga for my home but the stagecoach is cool for behind my door with 00buck. 👍✌🇺🇲🇺🇲
I have a Cimmeron of similar manufacturer I got a decade ago (and $800 cheaper). No weirdness with closing the action or color case hardening. But still great fun and a decent home defense option if you can’t get something better.
BEAUTIFUL
Well, that sure is a beauty ! Gonna play some poker now.

I like the flat finish on the barrels myself.

Hi Hickok, I bought a Pedersoli Wyatt Earp last year. I was a wall decoration gun from Paris, barely used. The barrel is blue with a shiny finish. I am surprised how well it’s tuned to shoot siting clays at 50 meters with slugs . It was made in 2011 and is one off the first one’s manufactured according to the serial number..If you could find one a new example today, it’s around 1800 Euros, so it’s about the same price for a doc Holiday Pedersoli. I payed 690€ for it . Cheers from France
great video as usual beautiful shot gun but that weird prosses of closeing the breach could be a real problem in a defensive situation not like the originals, I’ll stick to my old pump, 60 years old and not complicated
I remember exactly what Wyatt said to Virgil in the movie Tombstone: "All right, Virg. Your call. Give Doc the shotgun. They'll be less apt to get ner-vi-ous if he's on the street Howitzer"
I have a few hammer side by side guns, I have never seen a safety catch on a hammer gun before like the one on that gun.
Hi Hickok45 appreciate your video as always. I have a CZ Case Hardened Hammer Coach Gun that I think is better looking than the Cimmaron. It has glossy dark blue barrels, very nice walnut and the barrel snaps shut without activating the lever. I paid about $900 several years ago at a gun show new.
@kodiackcota

I came very close to picking one of those up. CZ doesn’t make a bad firearm and it’s just plain pretty. Should have got it because you won’t find one for $900 wherever you are again.
Hickok I have the Pedersoli "Generic" clone of this Shotgun. I bought it a few years ago. it has the shiny Blued barrels and it does not require any lever action to lock it up,that feature must be new? I load my own Brass hulls for the full Ole West feel. I enjoy mine and fortunately it was a bit cheaper than MSRP in 2023. Love your channel.
What type of 12 gauge shot are you shooting? Beautiful shotgun!
😮did I see a flinch on that bucket shot? You almost fell from the pedestal. Lol. Don't mind me. I'm actually quite jealous.
Something special about a double barrel s/s shotgun brings you back to a age when Simplicity Worked
Beautiful shotgun, still got the Sako 85 Bavarian Carbine at the top of my expensive, beautiful weapons on my lust for, wish list. Don’t mind you showing off other beauties, though.
I bought an original english 12g d.b. hammer gun, 30 inch barrels 120 yrs old, was proofed in 2000 for 2 1/2 " modern cartridges. Excellent condition. Cost me £300.00

Cool! Damascus barrels?
Started out wanting to go to Bud's and look up one of these, and of course, they are out of stock. But, if they are in that $1700.00 range, then, I guess the old Stoeger coach gun might have to suffice, when it comes to double barrel time. But hey, my first half of my first order with Silencer Central is finally on the way. Was a piece of cake to do an order from them.
1 more negative is the rubber covers on the hammer springs, that is not what doc had, but still a very beautiful hammer gun!
Hickok45 should keep that one!

I bought my first O/U the Mossberg Black Label 20 gauge a good all around shotgun in its price range so maybe Hickock can review one soon. I've been in the market for several shotguns such as the CZ Coach gun they are hard to find , I tuned on down three years ago at about 1200.00 and if you go to cheap the patina just comes out cheap looking. So a high quality double from Italy is going to be expensive! However a beautiful functional piece of art.
Hickok very crazy man 👨 ❤😂🎉

Hickok! The American treasure
Nice
The Pedersoli hammerguns are made by Huglu in Turkey - if you look at the address on the barrel, you'll note that it says "designed, finished, and proofed in Italy", not made in Italy. If you compare the action next to a CZ Hammer Classic, they are identical except for the metal finishes. I bought one (in the full length version) thinking I was getting a decent Italian double, and received a steaming pile of Turkish garbage. Mine also required the lever to be thumbed over manually; this is a design defect caused by the makers fundamentally misunderstanding the function of the Purdey double underbolt, not an error in QC.
Note from Colorado Optometrist--Even if just wounded by a stray buckshot, death may follow due to secondary infections. During the 1880s wounds were treated with sulfur & other Not Wonderful anti infectives-- Antibiotics revolutionized medicine in the 20th century. Alexander Fleming (1881-1955) discovered modern day penicillin in 1928, the widespread use of which proved significantly beneficial for gunshots. Therefore, in Doc Holiday's lifetime, non lethal wounds would often become lethal, after secondary infections. Thanks for reading ".... “Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.” (Benjamin Franklin, Speech to the Pennsylvania Assembly, November 11, 1755.)
