Liz OGrady I think it was meant that it has a very free flowing sound. This is how I prefer to play this piece. IMHO, It's so much more beautiful with a more legato approach. It's often approached with a heavier baroque interpretation.

@@owlgoescocoo I agree that the first sonata is easy, but the rest are harder, and it's not just playing it correctly, but playing it with passion and expressions. With that being said most beginners can't put emotions in their instruments. I played cimarosa at the end of my music high school and I can assure I had some problems with certain parts even tho i was playing the oboe for 5-6 years.

Tal vez resulte decepcionante para todos saber que Domenico Cimarosa NO COMPUSO este concierto sino el célebre compositor australiano Arthur Benjamin (1893-1960) que usó temas de sus sonatas para teclado. Sería como decir que el ballet Pulcinella de Stravinsky fue compuesto por Gianbattista Pergolesi (o el Adagio para Cuerdas y Organo de Remo Giazotto fue escrito por Albinoni !!!.) It may be disappointing for all to know that Domenico Cimarosa DID NOT compose this concerto but the famous Australian composer Arthur Benjamin (1893-1960) who used themes of his keyboard sonatas. It would be like saying that Stravinsky Pulcinella ballet was composed by Giambattista Pergolesi (or that Remo Giazzoto´s Adagio for Strings and Organ was written by Albinoni !!!.)

E. Diaz del Campo BENJAMIN, (1893-1960), el compositor australiano, utilizó las sonatas de CIMAROSA (1749-1801), Nº 29, 31, 23 Y 27, según la fuente consultada. para componer este hermoso concierto. Muchos compositores toman melodías u obras completas de sus colegas y las reescriben: Bach a Vivaldi, como ejemplo.Gracias por su aclaración.

Son obras de Cimarosa para clavicordio, adaptadas para orquestra y oboe para Benjamin. Es una transcription, ne es una obra original de Benjamin que utilizo "temas de Cimarosa", son obras integrales de Cimarosa transcpritas para oboe y orquestra, es un trabajo tecnico de orquestration y de ninguna manera es comparable a Pulcinella de Stravinsky que es una obra de Stravinsky simplemente inspirada de temas de Pergolesi.

Es una transcripción para oboe solista y orquesta de obras para teclado de Domenico Cimarosa, en ningún caso una "recomposición" o una obra inspirada en música de Cimarosa. Las obras para teclado de Cimarosa son muy buenas.

Honestly? Another typically modern approach - in a a bad style. Of course, technically flawless, great show on stage, but music is totally overinterpretted and misunderstood. Phrasing is pretty much upside down and ridiculous. It lacks straightforward simplicity and sincerity...

He's amazing but I really don't approve of how much he's moving. Kinda took away from the experience. Other than that, amazing!

As a matter of fact not only have I heard Herr Holliger live, I happened to be sitting in the cello section at the time. And I found him to have a singularly strident and unpleasant sound not to mention being rather inert musically. Got it, dear?
