It is a terrible shame that it was never an option earlier….lots of things down the back of Thirlmere have rusted and rotted to bits that if they had been undercover wouldn’t be in the state they are today.

I wonder why the governments of Australia built then let these things rot? I’m still shocked the original Sydney tram network ended being so successful and the ordering and destruction of near new trams and trains and the sweeping isolation of line closures that have caused many towns and the line to Byron bay and beyond and the main northern line. As the narrator on the dvd of shooting through said “political vandalism”. I won’t even go there with the Newcastle line and the Bankstown line, yeah let’s just make people change. Governments are rooted in this country. We are so behind in nsw with high speed trains and the new Newcastle tram line goes for something like 2km and cost how much?
