That punch through the chest kill is definitely up there as one of Chucky best kills very graphical look like they really wanted a budget specifically for that kill and I was surprise thought Trevor would be a vital character of the season.

Yeah Chucky going all MK on Trevor made my jaw drop, I'm guessing him working out plus the voodoo magic gave him super human strength. I thought of more MK than Jason for me since Cassie's fatality she looks through the hole like Chucky did lol.
Chucky had some hilarious lines in this episode. "If you're gonna pull my hair at least tell me I am pretty." " I've killed more people than you have insta followers." And the throw back line to Child's Play "Aunt Maggie, Chucky wants to watch the 9 O'clock news." LOL
Chucky talking as the Priest was hilarious. That's 400 Hail Mary's. Lmao
The major problem I have with this series is all these sudden deaths at the reformatory are looking to be ignored by the staff even thought the kids all warned them about Chucky. The senior nun can be put down as natural causes, but the priest being choked and the former bully with a hole in his chest can't be cast aside. The team still has to dispose of the body just for him to be declared missing.
I dunno man, I found Chucky being buff pretty hilarious and Trevor's death became one of my favorite kills in the franchise.
I actually really like the buff chucky concept. It makes him intimidating in a whole new way. Whereas before you could always find a little comfort in the fact that at the end of the day he’s a tiny doll with albeit enhanced voodoo strength but he’s still just a small little guy that can be overpowered. Now though he’s literally pulling out some Jason voorhees shit and that’s a lot more scary for the main characters.

Buff Chucky just elevated his kill potential to Jason levels.
An actual Good Guy Chucky?! I mean, I absolutely love Villain Chucky but I love this idea so much as well! I know he won't live for very long but it would be cool if he stayed for a couple more episode!
Kinda wild how they turned Lexy from the most despicable character outside of Chucky and Tiffany to the most relatable for me. I was also afraid that Nadine girl was gonna be the nails against a chalkboard kind of annoying, but I actually really like her. IMO she’s the perfect amount of weird and a bit annoying in a way that makes her endearing instead of grating. I thought the scene with her and Lexy in the bathroom was unironically the best scene in the episode. I got a little lump in my throat bc it made me think of a few great memories. I share your concerns tho, and I do worry that the kids will end up being the most interesting part of a show called “CHUCKY.” They’re overshadowing him instead of complimenting him, though I do like how they view him as a genuine threat despite the silly camp.
I just love this show so damn much. Way better then I would’ve imagined

Compared to other spin-off tv shows of popular horror franchises like Scream, Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th, the Chucky show shits on all of them. Also, it's not really a spin-off but some kind of a sequal to Cult.

Don Mancini is Don Mancini’ing again. Been watching your channel since 2017. Super dope that you’re knocking on 100k subs. Congrats! Looking forward to more kick ass reviews and your channel’s growth 🎉
8:14 I hate when people excuse stuff in a series that's too weird, stupid or bad by going "It's about "Insert unrealistic thing here" so it doesn't have to have logic, make sense or set rules or limits." When for instance with good supernatural films, books, TV series and games the logic and rules of the universe are established and limits are put on the magic so characters can't just do anything with it. I agree Cody the series is sliding into Seed territory where they're being OTT for the sake of it.
I am really enjoying this season. That clockward orange scene was gold.
The lack of plot is my biggest problem but thankfully Chucky himself has been a highlight with tons of great one-liners & gags.
Now they making buff Chucky dolls now? 😂
This is easily the best episode so far for season 2, but the thing is that it is concerning & questionable that they went out their way to hide Ole-boy's Liu Kang style fatality'd dead body...

Mancini is just throwing things at the wall now and seeing what sticks. Still enjoy the show but accept the horror aspect of it is long gone.
Okay that tame Andy like Chucky might be one of my favorite versions of the character. So funny to hear Brad Dourif show a gentler Chucky. I genuinely hope that buff Chucky doesn’t kill him. “Aunt Maggie Chucky wants to watch the 9:00 news.”
Favorite episode of the series so far not counting the series premiere❤
Buff chucky confirms the shows target demographic are middle school kids who love the lolrandom humor of the internet.
I wouldn't say Jake's only character arc is just him being gay in the school because we have that scene of him talking with one of the teachers about him wanting to find a way to deal with the massive guilt he has from letting chucky kill Gary and we even see him consider her advice by telling Devon that he wants to see if forgiving chucky could ease the guilt that's eating him from the inside. btw I do agree on Devon not having his own storyline yet.

I totally get where you're coming from when this, idk how I feel either. Gonna have to see how the rest of it plays out. It's really just weird. Innocent Chucky is neat tho
I tried to watch this twice and fell asleep twice. Part of what I don’t like is the cinematography is dark, the building is dark. My eyes just want to close.
Glad bully died tbh. Kinda exhausted of the school bully being a secondary antagonist. Just a waste of time imo.
I've been waiting for your take on this 😂
This season feels like it's just stuff happening
Ya’ll have to remember was that version of the doll really ever violent? The one kill he got was him scaring the lady into a heart attack, so I don’t think it’s far fetched that they reprogrammed that particular doll.
Haven’t seen this episode yet but I still wanna watch your review 😂
Chuck Lesnar!!! 😂
Remember the old days where chucky used to be scary and not goofy? Yeah, me too.
That brutal chest kill was insane
Chucky: Come with me if you want to die 😂
I’m having fun with this season. But they do need to tone it down a bit.I’m concerned about the next episode which will be Tiffany centered and we all know that’s gonna be hella wacky. This episode was my favorite so far! I like buff Chucky. Going to miss Goodguy Chucky. Wish they could have done more with that, like he kills who ever try to harm the kids, like Buddy in child’s play remake. That would have been more interesting. One biggest flaw with Mancini, he wraps up plot points rather quickly.
I'm with you Cody - not really feeling this season. The plot feels somewhat aimless and the tone is too Goosebumps-y. I really think Don has lost his sense of writing an engaging plot that moves from point A to point B. The structure of the seasons are a bit off and there are too many elements that make no sense. I'm still along for the ride and know there will be some enjoyable moments from the season, but I think there are 2 types of fans at this point: the ones who dig the crazy, silly, chaotic storytelling, and the ones who would prefer something a little more...disciplined? And I find I'm falling into the latter camp.
ya gotta rememeber Chucky is physically as strong as a human, so if a Chucky actually tried to work out his body could physically get muscular
@dwightgreene1361

And if you remember Childs play one The man who taught him voodoo told Charles that the longer he stayed in that doll's body The more human he would become so hes technically not a doll anymore he can bleed and he can have bones broken
The one where Chucky swallows the puzzle piece and the man in the big yellow hat takes him to the hospital
FINALLY SOMEONE AGREES ABOUT BUFF CHUCKY! Literally every other review I have watched loved the idea and I hated it. I agree with all your reasoning. This season for me is just getting worse for me but I am optimistic.

Well the way he executed the kill was he ran at him jumped in the air and punched him in the face, He didn't throw him he punched him and sent him flying you can hear it when you hear him getting a running start And then for that brief Moment before he goes flying you can see a fist hitting him in the face
I think it's going to be interesting how this plays out. With that buff Chucky being that strong. He's going to be hard to defeat. But I do hope it starts to reveal what Chucky's plan is and hope it picks up the pace a bit. Also, we still don't know about Andy and Kyle yet. CHADucky is a fun idea. Very similar to the bear buddies in the 2019 film. Hope they do more variants of the good guy doll that maybe helps Chucky blend in better.
I do also wish they kinda gave more interest to the voodoo aspect and explained it somehow. Maybe big chucky requires more fragments of his soul to keep him strong instead of 100 normal ones. The voodoo basically became a joke in Cult and onward sadly.

I'm not really feeling this season so far either Cody. Lexy's story and entire arch is most interesting for me. Alyvia Alyn Lind has been the best & most consistent performer of the kids. I'm enjoying Nadine as the new addition. Hopefully the season picks up steam.
I agree with everything. The show is no longer taking themselves seriously. And I dont know how I feel about buffed Chucky. I'm kinda not like anxious to rewatch episodes like season 1 but I have faith.
Hulked out Chucky: CHULKY
I have completely disengaged from watching this show and keeping up with Don Mancini's concept of Chucky. I'm watching Cody's reviews just to basically watch what a shitshow this franchise now is (and because I enjoy Cody's videos) The only hope for this franchise is to get it out of Mancini's hands. I'm not begrudging or mocking anyone who still wants to watch it, but my confidence is high it will be mediocre at best under Mancini.
I just hope they don’t make it too campy with the clockwork orange Chucky and buff Chucky running around. I don’t mind Chucky being funny but I wanna see some horror in this too.
I like the fun the show give, I never since season 1 took this show serious, I just am on it for the ride...its amusing in some circumstance.
You’re the best man! Keep it up
I'm pissed they teased Glen and Glenda last episode then didn't go back to it at all this episode
I always love listening to people's opinions but I kind of found cody's analysis to be superfluously cynical haha but to each their own! I'm going to watch his other reviews now to see if that's just his personality but I never really found the series to take itself seriously even in season 1, and I'm glad they're exploring different ideas and keeping the ride fresh and new.. rules to engage with the show is a very foreign and rigid concept to me that I had to rewind and listen to what he said twice haha... especially considering how the first season veered off the beaten Chucky path many times. Keep up the reviews, I'll go back and watch your others and keep watching, liking, and I just subbed :)
Just finished watching it. My only complaint is, I wish Chucky looked better. I read somewhere the show is only using six puppeteers. I’m assuming three are working his head and the other three are controlling his body? Maybe that’s why it seems off. As always great video man!
I liked episode number 3. Kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time
I actually really liked the first episode but I have to agree, something feels really off this season. That off feeling only gets worse with each new episode. I hope it picks up but right now this season is a step down from the previous. I also hate to say it but I just don’t find the two leads romance all that compelling. Individually I thought they were great characters last season but ever since they finally got together, the boyfriend (I forget his name) just seems like he’s been downgraded. Instead of being his own individual character he just seems relegated to “Jakes boyfriend” which I find kind of lame. They really lack chemistry together
One of the biggest issues that seem to arise with the Don Mancini Chucky stuff is it kind of feels like he mostly just does what he wants to and what he thinks is fun, and only throws things like Curse of Chucky Into the mix to reassure Chucky fans he knows what he's doing
I want good chucky to help the kids 🤣 It would be one phucked version of scooby doo. Fred = Jake Daphne = Lexy Velma = Devin 😜 Scooby = Good chucky Shaggy = Nadine
Don has been killing the chucky character for years
I thought this episode was fun and I had a couple of laughs but I would like an explanation on how these chucky dolls can mutate. I don't think they will give that answer anytime soon since next episode looks like a murder mystery in Tillys house.
I understand why you would be worried after listening to your reasoning, I'm not so much worried as I am intrigued. I like what I'm seeing, I personally tend to be on board with what most of Don Mancini does, except that one meta reference in the second episode I hated that.
Nice Chucky sounded like Wallace Shawn.

I could watch Chucky all day
It was funny the Clockwork Orange scene was so dope!!! But I was kinda disappointed that they were too focused on the Church setting with the main kid characters like the whole Ep almost literally. I really wanted to see Neca and Tiffany there was NO scene with them this Ep and yes even though I don’t like Seed I wanted to see Glen and Glenda with that cliffhanger they left us with in the last Ep also see how Andy resurfaces cause we all know he can’t be dead and I also refuse to believe Kyle is dead too maybe we won’t get them til midway or towards the end of the Season.
Just have fun with it
Yooo! Nice Chucky is TERRIFYINGLY SCARY!! Like nightmare fuel 😰 This episode is good 😊
The pacing for this episode was slow for me. I agree with your take on the wacky stuff.
There were some cool one liners, the chest kill was badass. Lexi is the most interesting character thus far, devon and jake are ok. The buff chucky was kinda weird. The episode had more negatives than positives. Keep up the great work cody.

I agree about Trevor's death. The whole thing between him and Lexi was interesting to me. Maybe down the line he would have joined the kids believing Chucky was alive. Also for "its the big show" chucky..first I thought how the hell did he even pull that off!?
