Chuck Yeager's Air Combat (CYAC) F-4 vs 2x Mig-21
A small dogfight in which I go in a F-4 against 2 Mig-21 in the game Chuck Yeager Air Combat.
Chuck Yeager's Air Combat was a air combat simulator released in 1991 by Electronic Arts. It was developed with insight from veteran Chuck Yeager.
The game features three distinct campaigns set in World War 2, Vietnam and Korea. The appropriate aircraft for each the theater are represented. Throughout the game players are tasked with different mission types: scouting, escorting, dogfighting and target neutralization.
On the technical side, the game boasts advanced flight models (for 1991), three dimensional clouds, good aircraft models and very realistic and functional cockpits for each plane.

This game was great, I'm 27... I remember having a ton of fun with this game lol
This is where my career in aviation really started
This brought back a lot of memories, thanks for posting!
That was a good video game that I truly enjoyed, appreciate the great memories 👍
I really don't remember the engine sounding that absurdly annoying, holy shit it is awful and I played this for HOURS on end.

DOS emulation may not be properly emulating the sound.

Sounds like it's only doing the PC speaker sound. Probably not set to the right DMA port and IRQ's for the sound card. A lot of games expected IRQ 220 but DosBox defaults to 330 (IRRC).

It's problably that. At the time I don't think I fiddled with sound settings at all, and not knowing what it should sound like, left it like that. Later on another installation of DosBox it sounded better, but I left this video because if it was possible under some configuration to have sound like this, it was at least worth for that. There are other videos showing richer sound effects so it isn't much of a problem in regards to the representation of the game anyways. Cheers.

sounds like a constant sidewinder lock lol
Brought back a lot of memories from the 80's. You had to have a kick arse computer to play for back then. A VGA monitor from a black and white was a plus as well LOL. Can't believe I'm 35. Peace.
YOU BOUGHT THE FARM!
Chuck Yeager's Air Combat 2014... then I woke up.
That sidewinder tone is FUCKING PAINFUL!!!!!! >_
Couldn't watch with that Emergency Broadcast System Alarm going off through the whole thing. Had the game and I loved it.
Oh I don't have much of a problem with criticism, his comment just didn't have much substance to it. As for the missiles, I chose not to take the risk if the chance of hitting was too low. Taking into account the number of missiles to enemies, you're right, I could've fired them without hesitation.
Amazing game
I use to have this game, it was awesome.
Amazing
I love this game :)
Epic game
Funny thing about this is the engine sounds terrible, but the missile tones (while not accurate) sound very plausible. I wish more sims and arcade games went with a real lofi sound for alarms and such. You don't really want betty to tell you you have a lock; you want a sound you recognize instantly!
Not bad for '91!! :D
Chuck would always talk smack if you crashed, ie.... 'you really bought the farm on that one!'
Oh man, I used to have this,
@mattc941 Yes, this game certainly had a great personality. From the simulation, those little touches and the manual filled with flight material as well as stories from Chuck himself, this game was pretty awesome.
I think he was a little quick to judge, but it did seem like you were hesitant to engage. Several times you had a solid missile lock, only to switch back to the guns and continue turning slowly with him.
ME encanta este juego ,,,,,que buenazo que era
@redmar79 Interestingly I bought the Wing Commander games off of GOG some time ago, and recently played through 1 and 2. They're great games and I can appreciate the effort and vision put into them. I definitely recommend people to check them out.
i remember a closeup screen of the enemy plane that wld show it explode ect...n yea i dont remember the engine being that annoying either, also played hours on end.,.for years lol
@mattc941 You're welcome ;).
Where can i get this game without having to use any CD's?
They need to bring this to android!
@Ironfootx1 Ok, let's see that video response then.
