All my other apps show the cast icon and cast perfectly fine but Netflix just won’t. It won’t even show up. I’ve tried every option you listed but I’m desperate at this point

Could it be that in the Netflix app settings Local Network is toggled off?

Any idea on how to deal with using my Chromecast on a hotel TV without my remote? I’m on vacation, brought my chromecast but I forgot the remote. And I can’t seem to use my iPhone as a remote (using google home or similar) because when I plug my chromecast into the tv, the chromecast isn’t connected to Wi-Fi yet so it can’t show itself. I’d prefer to not “hard reset” my chromecast cause then I’d lose the apps I’ve set up on it. THANKS 🙏🏼 🎉

Is the following step missing from the instructions? On your iOS device’s home screen, tap Settings. Tap Privacy Local Network. You’ll find a list of apps. Turn on Local Network Access for the app(s) you would like to cast from. This will allow permissions for Cast to discover local devices when casting

Tried all but nothing works. Apps with build-in cast icon work fine but i have another streaming app that normally uses the pop-up cast icon but it just won't appear on my new android go edition phone :(

My cast won't work but other phones can see it.

Reboot your device and try again ,and if not then remove the WiFi network and connect again.

I can connect tot YT. But on rumble i dont see the icon or i can see it briefly help

The KZread app doesn’t find the chrome cast, but the Netflix app does. Same phone, same network. It seems like the KZread app isn’t the most reliable anymore.

Bros, just allowed youtube to access local network on app configs, and it just worked.

Hi, I have tried all these things which are mentioned in the video..still facing same issue. Can router be the reason behind that I am not able to see cast icon on my apps...? Strange part is I am able to see cast icon and Chromecast name on KZread app but not on other apps Please guide

Can cast from phone apps like KZread, but the phone does not recognize the chromecast from google home for screen mirroring

I just upgraded from iPhone 12 to iPhone iPhone 14 Pro and my phone no longer finds Chromecast but ONLY for the Disney+ app. Prime, Paramount and KZread are all fine. Is this a Disney issue or an iPhone issue? I don’t know who to contact.

I have the same issues as most of you. Chromcast is a major issue together with alexa ect.....since everything changed 26 Oct.😢

I use my desktop for everything, and can normally cast from my laptop to the Roku tv. Sometimes, like today however, none of the you tube videos are showing the "cast" icon, but tomorrow it may suddenly appear. That's how it's been the past few months.

I moved! I could cast easily from my last home. Now, my chromebook does not have a cast icon on youtube. I can cast from my android phone. When I search "cast" it says no devices. TV and chromebook are on the same network. Please help.

My phone connects fine but my chrome browser won't recognize the chromecast at all. I haven't been able to find a solution for months. I don't want to factory reset the chromecast since it is the browser seemingly having the issue.

Tbh I actually find the reverse. KZread is the *worst* at finding it. It offers me all kinds of other options - even a TV which I no longer possess - but not the one I want. This is despite the Google Home app picking it up, and often other apps picking it up too.

I can cast with my phone EVERYTHING KZread Tubi everything.. except rumble. I can cast from my tablet no problem. On my phone I try to cast rumble and it comes off the screen saver on my TV like it's going to cast but the TV screen is dark with the cast icon in the center of my TV ... if you can help me I'd certainly appreciate it.. thank you

I moved out, am trying to set up my chromecast with my new wifi. I had to factory reset but my google home keeps finding another person's device instead of mine.

Rumble casting is suddenly down..I see the chromecast logo appear on my TV but no video stream. I'm using a tablet..on my phone the app worked until 2 days ago..KZread works fine

I try to connect for the pass 3 days. All this time,just found out it was just the WIRE that connects to the Chromecast. 😜

I had the issue of only being able to cast youtube from chrome on my pc but no other tabs...theres a button on the side of your chromecast unit hold it down for ten seconds will factory default chromecast unit. Then I uninstalled the chromecast app on my android phone, restarted the phone, reinstalled the chromcast app went thru all the setup steps on the app and voila, I can cast my pc screen on my tv again. This drove me nuts for several days.

All of my other apps cast perfectly aside from the Disney Plus app.

I tryed turning it still wouldn’t show Netflix and restarting my iPhone tryed everything in the book nothing will work do I just buy a new google home chrome thing

Just click on the name of your chrome cast listed in your wifi settings from your mobile device then follow the steps within the google home app

Thank you, this was all along the reason why I couldn’t find chrome cast on the Google Home app, but it seems to me that you only do this to add the chrome cast device, then before you carry on setting it up in Google home you need to return to settings and select your normal Wi-Fi network

Also, on IOS you need to go into settings, privacy and security, local network and turn on Google home to give it access. All these important steps are never mentioned in any videos I’ve seen and it is crucial for connecting the app with the device.

I have two Android devices, which are behaving identically. I am housesitting for a family member, and trying to Chromecast to a television set. The only app in which the Chromecast icon appears is KZread, where it works seamlessly. I tap the icon and am offered a choice of every television set in the house. I've tried with two of the TVs; it instantly flips over to its own KZread app and displays the video from my phone. But despite restarting the phone, I can't get the icon to show in other apps like Netflix, Disney+, or Xfinity Stream, even though I have casted from them in various places in the past. I can't "reset the Chromecast" because there is no Chromecast device, just Chromecast functionality in a television set.

if you have an iphone go to- settings- intimacy--local network- then you will see a bunch of apps and then tap on the apps you like to cast on chromecast,the light should be green for apps to work on the chromecast

I can connect with youtube via Chrome on mac desktop but any other website does not connect. Well, it connects and then freezes. I suspect it's something Google disables and only wants youtube to connect. Since it's basically the same company.

lol i got the chrome cast button on this video but not on Hulu or Disney plus Update Im on iphone, youtube would cast but not hulu netflix or disney turns out access to local network needs to be enabled on those streaming apps on the settings for it to appear

Actually, I’m finding KZread the most UNRELIABLE app to connect to a Chromecast. Mine always has issues. Disney, Tidal, and Spotify never have issues for me

still strugling but i suspect its router/wifi issue

mine is fading in and out it will connect them disconnect then connect

Might be worth resetting your TV which will force it to download all the standard apps including KZread. You'll have to login to all the apps again but you'll have KZread back.

So I’m trying to figure out why google chrome on my Mac computer isn’t recognizing any device (my chrome cast device)?? I have tried just about everything recommended by 20 different videos. It worked after uninstalling and reinstalling everything the other day and now we are back to square 1. 😤. At this point google will not be getting anymore money out of me. I’m sure they are doing this on purpose to get people to buy the new chrome cast. It’s quite a disgusting business practice to say the least.

if you are reading this in 2023 and get "devices not found". uninstall Avast antivirus worked for me when nothing else would. i could cast from my phone but not my pc because Avast was blocking all casting.

IPhone is one of the lousiest phones I have bought and it is a waste of money, very difficult to use and connect other devices to iPhone as compared to any other phones. When using iphone I am able to see Chromecast icon using youtube however the icon is not seen when using other apps like SONY LIV, etc. I feel cheated and helpless having bought an iphone and curse the manufacturer of iphones.

Hey how's it going? So here's my situation, I have the Chromecast-built in on my JVC tv, I also have a VPN, and what I'm trying to achieve is this, i canceled my cable company because they were crooks, so I have this 4k smart tv (JVC) with the chromecast built- in) I watch 3 things, two tv programs History Channel & Discovery Channel, those I can get for free,I got hooked up with a modem/router for internet only from Verizon, I figure that I can just stream whatever I want, my hockey is another story, so far I'm paying 9.99 a month for that terrible ESPN+ which streams very few games and now I come to find out that half of them can't be cast either, so I sign up for the free trial of Fubotv. And low & behold , I get it to work last night, as you said ,I tried it out on my. KZread first and then switched over at game time,then after the game I watched a little more KZread, no problems...then I come home from work and turn on the tv again, and all I'm getting is the looped scenery pictures from Google on my screen?? What do ya think I should do? My free trial ends tomorrow, I was hoping to test it out with another site for hockey games tonight, but yet, I'm back at square one again...this is so frustrating
