Chromatic Aberration: Calculating the Lateral Color of a Lens

Ғылым және технология

The lateral (transverse) chromatic aberration of a lens with a stop is computed using a spreadsheet and benchmarked against lens design software. The spreadsheet includes some stop shift analysis. A demonstration using Zemax OpticStudio is included.

The Excel formula in Cell I22 for CTR is =-F12*F15*(E10+F10-(E18*F10*E10))/I7 The mathematical expression for CTR is found at 3:38.
