I am 32 and my dad is 54. Three years ago we discovered Parkinson disease and it’s been hard for us. I am trying to build memories with him and spend as much as possible, my time with him. This song, I dunno why, makes me remind him, and makes me wanna cry every single time… thank you for your voice…God bles You GG and your band…

On the Howard Stern show in 1996 (I think), Christopehr Cross said this song was not about sailing or artistic expression. Instead it was about the fact that his father was not a good father - dysfunctional alcoholic - and this song is about dreaming and wishing for a real father. /hearts That may be why it touches your relationship with your father. I have found that this song means so much to me, but unlike Chris, I had a really good father and I'm so thankful for that.

Always liked the instrumental vibes from this song, and the band here did it justice. Then enter Gigi's vocals and the keyboardist's harmonies and it literally brought tears to my eyes. Loved this cover even more than the original.
