The only negative with Waltz is that the english speaking world didn't get to see him earlier.

I teach English as a foreign language, and Waltz is exactly how texts describe someone with mastery of a second language. He doesn't just speak accurately, but he uses idioms and phrases that you normally only get from native speakers, and sometimes uses words that I rarely hear even from native speakers. A mark of great intelligence

Well being married with an American woman for 17 years and having 3 children with her helps tremendously to pick up the English language accurately, doesn´t it. Of course he is an intelligent man, but in a wide and broad sense and not just down of his language skills. As an actor language is just part of his profession anyway. He lived and worked many many years in England (where he met his now US Ex wife, currently married to a German wife since 2013) and before he also lived and worked many years in France as well, that all before he became "worldfamous"

And the way he carefully selects his words makes you realise ( in my opinion) that he actually speaks English better than most native speakers do! At times he seems to have a greater mastery of it than Charlie Rose!!

This is a masterclass for most of us who have experienced that the usage of our mother tongues deteriorated hugely in the last few decades. As for a German speaking compatriot of Mr. Waltz I try to keep my Austrian German as precise and versatile as possible, even my dialect words. Thank you for keeping the "art of language" high, Mr. Waltz!

@leba6304 I can understand that statement. He's well dressed, eloquent, educated, witty... and we tend to associate positive qualities with attraction and even good looks. He is good looking. Not the Brad Pitt way (and even there we're talking individual tastes), but in a comforting, intriguing way. One of the only real great surprises in Hollywood for a long time. And yes, he plays C Waltz in every role, just like Pacino plays Pacino, De Niro plays De Niro and so on. But so what, that's also what we like: the reassuring, known side of things. We're less open minded than we think 🙂 And more pragmatically: the man has stunning eyes indeed.

He's humble, which many actors after the success he's had post Inglorious Basterds. His first major English language Hollywood film, and he wins an Oscar. Since then another Oscar, in another QT film, and a total of 85 wins and 42 other nominations. His head should huge. He's an amazing actor, and if you appreciate films and acting, you're thankful QT knew a good actor when he saw one. Austrian CW is living the quintessential American Dream

It’s because major success didn’t find him until he was 50. Remaining humble in the face of success is hard for a young man. When someone doesn’t make it until they’re older, humility has already been beaten into them.

Finding this band way later than i should Christoph is excellent actor no doubt for him and we saw its not about Tarantino or someone, of course Tarantino wrote the characters godly but he play his part so well (not well written playing well) he proved to us with Alita Battle Angel too. Also what I discover how amazing Charlie Rose is he is adapting his guest so well, we saw 2 gentlemen talks about a character in this video but like in that flashback about Tarantino we saw 2 movie nerds talking to each another

He's honest enough to admit Quentin's importance for his self esteem and career (called vocation in order to keep up appearances :-)). Tarantino saved many actors in that way: last decent role for De Niro, only decent roles for Jackson, Travolta, Thurman, Madsen, highlight for Willis, Keitel and Walken, only decent roles for Tim Roth, ... The man is a Saint to actors and has the talent to share his cproduction with many different actors !
