I saw The Kingfish when he was 14 and he could really play that axe. I'm glad that the Blues will be preserved as these amazing young Blues guitar players who play way beyond their years come up through the ranks.

@@marcelosilva6914 you're right. It might be herasy to say this but BB never could play as well as this kid. He'd be the first to admit it. Maybe Freddie King but not BB. Or Albert. I have performed with him live. Watched him up close and personal. Yes he will make his own legacy.

Probably the sound guys who realize how much better this guy would sound on a decent recording.

Saw him at the JJF in Clarksdale April 2017. The brotha' was worth the trip.

I saw Christone at Red's Blues Club, in Clarksdale, MS, back in 2013, playing with a local Blues group (don't remember their name). He was just a teenager at the time, but even then he was very good. Glad to see he's making a name for himself.

@@Gauss909 he is not better. Everyone plays in his own ways. BB king has a playstyle no one can ever recreate. Just like SRV and many other guitarist. Its not just 1 is better than another. Just like srv and clapton where just way better than jimi hendrix. But he had much greater influence.

First off SRV and Clapton were not better than Hendrix. Sorry. No. Just no. Hendrix when he first came to London ate Clapton alive in person and made him leave the stage. He "killed God" as one reviewer put it. So I don't know where this guy gets the notion that Clapton was better than Hendrix. As for Stevie Ray Vaughan he was a settler on territory that Hendrix conquered. So let's get that part out of the way. Now as for Kingfish he is the King of the Blues in this day. There is nobody out here who can fuck with him and that includes Bonamassa. It also includes BB King (RIP) and Albert King (RIP). Freddie King (RIP) on his best could. But Kingfish is 22 years old at this writing and might still get better. Kingfish is The Man right now. Solomon Hicks has a great future as well and he's all of 24 or 25. So the blues is in good hands right now and the future looks bright.

When you talk about guitar players who are better than Jimi you gotta talk about cats like John Mclaughlin, George Benson, Segovia, Wes Montgomery, Roy Clark. None of the blues players of his time could fuck with him. But Kingfish at the age of 22 is right there with Jimi. He's probably going to pass him.
