I got this scene because I was determined to romance Kasumi and I didn't want to feel the guilt of cheating on the girls this time. You know after everything Akira and Sojiro went through and how they went from "I'll throw you out if you step out of line" to a genuine family I can't think of a better way to spend new year. I'm really glad I got this scene.

I don't like romance too much anyway, so I'm happy we still get other scenes instead!

I'm on my first playthrough of the game right now and feeling hopelessly lost on who to pick for my romance option. I'm stuck between Makoto, Kasumi and Futaba and I just don't know what to do lmao. I kinda want to go for Kasumi, but her confidant level maxed out at 5 and I heard it unlocks again later on, but...apparently you just miss out on some romantic events like Christmas dates if you stay single the entire time until Kasumi gets unlocked. I just finished securing my route to Sae's treasure and am now in the days before the gang wants to send out the calling card (so no spoilers about what happens after that, please) but I'm just really unsure on what to do now, because Makoto is at rank 8 now and the next time we hang out I'm gonna have to either commit or give up on her altogether. Futaba I really like too, but she kinda feels more like a little sister than a romance option. And Kasumi is great, but I'd have to give up on scenes like this (and as much as I love this game, I'm not sure I can bring myself to replay it anytime soon, considering how long it is lmao).

@@JokerShiranui honestly, Just pick whoever you like the best. You can see every scene you Lost here on KZread, and single Christmas is sweat too. I loved Kasumi since the First Time i saw her cause She reminded me of my girlfriend, but every girl in the games Is a good choice (except ohya)

I think either works pretty well depending on what path you decide to go tbh. In the very least it is canon that Futaba has feelings for Joker if you get up to 9 in her confidant events and if you do choose to romance her I think they make it work pretty well after all the character development she had. If you don’t choose to romance her it’s also feels pretty natural. Some of the confidant events don’t lean into the romance enough and some lean into them too much and I feel like Futaba is one of the few characters where both options work well in the story.

I romanced Sumire during my playthrough. At first I was disappointed that she didnt have a christmas date, but I didnt mind after seeing how sweet this scene was.

This was woooooorth it. I always had a head cannon that futaba was basically the little sister joker never has. And what do we have here? A christmas eve party with the family. I love it! Considering I pair Joker with Yoshizawa this was defs worth it.

the part where futaba mentions getting a bunch of gift certificates might be the influence of Maruki's Actualization similar to how the other Christmas dates manage to get a cake by the last minute

You can if you go along with Maruki's plan, you get to stay with Sojiro and the group doesn't go there separate ways ate the end. You'll miss out on the true ending but if you'd rather stay together then you can

Huge improvement from the start of the game when on day two he calls you on the cafe's public phone saying he never saves the number of guys on his phone.

Futabas so god damn cute in this scene, I wish Joker could end up staying in the true ending

Considering how P4 already did good with the guardian + daughter that you have to live with, I’m pretty happy 5 was able to improve on that even further. The Sakuras seem to be the improved version of the Dojimas and was able to integrate them into the main story in so many aspects

Sojiro knows noone comes to the cafe on christmas and he still calls you to come back and help. Mad. Lad.

Wholesome moments like these are why I love these games so much!

Not just that, it's heavily implied Maruki was already fiddling at this point in time, so anything that seems lucky or fortunate, was 100% his doing.

Another great reason to romance Sumire. This is what I would want for Christmas anyway. Isn’t that the point? Who goes on a date on Christmas, lol.
