@@thecman26 I've had them. They're dryer then store bought, I'm sure intentionally to help them last. I think we should go back to the canned rations like a lot of Europe uses. I know it's slightly heavier and bulkier but I'm sure the soldiers would appreciate the better food quality.

We have a family member who lives in Fairbanks and he sends us the executive chef spice every year. It is THE best prime rib seasoning we have ever had. Few people outside of Alaska get to try that spice. Merry Christmas!

I remember eating mare’s when I was in the army national guard in the sixties. Most of it was in cans and they generally were pretty good.

As a kid in the 70s I had some C-rations which were AWESOME 😎

The cracker looks exactly like regular old rye crisps. The. I was child, we used to go to the zoo and feed rye crips to the goats at the petting zoo. I loved to eat them myself.

From how old that meal is , it actually looks pretty tasty. I am just S shocked as you were about how well tht cookie held up over so many years. Love watching ur videos and thank you for ur service sir .

It is a very Christmas MRE interesting the dessert looked alright...I found the short story about the pies during the depression interesting...it's amazing how people pulled together during tough times I used to get told stories by my grandad what kind of foods he lives when got evacuated as kid in ww2...things like nettle stew stuff we probably wouldn't even consider eating.
