Today's video is JAM PACKED with fun upcycles/flips, thrifting, and a thrift haul. First I will show you how I will turn items I found in garbage piles on peoples' curbs into beautiful and high end Christmas decor. This year I was inspired by pottery barn and costco christmas decor and did some looks for less for you! Next, I will take you thrift shopping with me to find some inspiration for the holidays as well as some super great bargains! Last I show all the fun things I scored at the second hand stores from the day. Are you in the Christmas spirit yet?

I saw a video the other day, where a KZreadr bought one of those beaded car seat covers, that are supposed to massage or press your body in trigger points, while you drive. She only paid a couple bucks, but didn't buy it for her car! She took it home and cut it apart, dividing the beads into like piles, to USE FOR CRAFTING!!! I thought that was one of the most insightful ways to see things! When we shop, we should be thinking outside the box, for ways to save money and to gain ideas of things to create. I appreciate you sharing how you sometimes get your ideas....from Pier One websites and just walking through the local shops. Many KZread creators want the viewers to think they came up with the idea while dreaming, etc! Lol!! I appreciate the honesty, real ones like you! Best wishes with a healthy pregnancy and very healthy, and happy baby girl!

When my youngest daughter got her first pair of glasses at three years old a fiber optic tree was the one thing she would stare at. And she stared for hours! They changed colors and she was just in AWE of it. It's been 32 years and I'll never forget it!

That embroidery hoop idea is fantastic! Actually the whole video is great. I often see "fairy lights" super cheap (some times even free) second hand, often as leftover decor items from weddings. I have yet to pick them up, but I often want to grab them up, I knew there were uses for them. This is the perfect example.

How I wish people would offer items to thrift stores before throwing them out for rubbish collection. Those embroidery hoops are precious equipment to crafters!

When I was little, my grandmother had a silver Christmas tree and she took such joy setting it up and decorating it each year. I remember that so well, although she has been gone a long time. Happy memories!

If you want to make your ice skates look antique, get a car dusting cloth, or two, from the dollar store and cut a 2-3 inch wide strip, double layered, and glue or tape (if you plan to let your daughter use those skates when she's older), and wrap it around the top to make it look like a fur cuff! It changes the entire look of the skates. There are a lot of other things you could look for to use as "fur", if you don't have a dollar store or think it's not furlike enough! I love the way you put Christmas "greenery" in the skates!

Maybe for the first project you could have used metallic fabric so the ornaments would be shiny, and added a bow or a piece of metal to area where the screws are so it looked more like an ornament. The first tree is beautiful.

I've never seen a fiber optic tree! But we do have the cutest fiber optic snowman, where his stick arms and a snowflake on his chest turn different colors. I think it has more, but I can't remember right now. It's about 15" tall, and sits on a counter in our kitchen, where our phone used to be. I think we've had it for over 20 years, and is still one of our families favorite decorations!

I seriously considered using my tomato cages to make trees, but I am in the Pacific Northwest, and our fall into weather is just wet and nasty, and my husband who would normally keep me motivated had knee surgery in November so he was recovering. You know, the tomato cages are very awkward to store over the winter, and are fairly inexpensive to replace, but I just use mine over until they break completely down. I am glad to see your results, I think I will do these next year.

The whole time watching the bench I was thinking I really hope she turns it on it's back and puts a full back piece on it and a shelf inside to decorate. I thought is funny how we went in completely different directions. Totally cool piece!! Bravo👏

So.....it's the beginning of Summer---early June---and I am getting huge inspo for Christmas. LOL But you know what...have found that Summer is a fabulous time to make/do little things in prep for the Holidays....found a magnificent artisan handmade 5 ft pencil Christmas Tree a few summers ago at my local Mom and Pop thrift store---and a few days later (at the same place) snagged a 6ft diameter huge pre-lit wreath. Both are unique showstoppers at our house for the season----so whenever cool Christmas inspo comes your way---snag it or make it---even if it's currently 93 degrees outside...LOL Come Holiday time, you'll be so glad you did! :) :) Fun video, Corey...:)

I absolutely love that idea and it's the first thing that popped into my mind too. But I went in a tiny bit different direction than that and I think you'll still really like it

Yes 👍!!! I thought 💭 about doing tomato 🍅 cages that look like Christmas 🎄 tres because it looks like a tree with tape or whatever. How do you have so much energy? I lately have been dragging and I can’t get everything done. I’m juggling putting up Christmas trees🎄. Outside decorations. These crafts I want to do !! I think 🤔 it’s because I’m not getting much sleep.. that turned out pretty with the yellowish cologne!! I think 🤔 part of the problem is I’ve been going through junk some of it is good junk and some of it is bad junk from doing to much dumpster diving lol 😂 now I’m going through things that are absolutely broken and can’t be fixed !!! Those that can be fixed I have on one side. I donated a bunch of stuff. Gave away to friends and family and I’m finally getting it down to is salvageable!!! I can’t believe this happened and their was some water damage so I had to do the smell 👃 test if it’s stinky and that nasty 🤮 wet mold smell 👃 it went to the trash. How do you Manage doing all of your arts and crafts and all of it ? I think 🤔 I’m doing to much cleaning 🧹!!! Trying to get things back to my neat freak ways. Yes their are things to flip to a gorgeous piece of furniture. I love 💗 those wooden bowls my grandmother had those. That Santa that stares was creepy !!! Lol 😂 What a terrible look 👀 on that Santa’s face

Thank you! I have found that the things we own, also own us! The more crap we have the more stress we feel. The more stress we feel the less creative we are. I am going to continue to chip away at my projects one at a time until I run out and then only take in a few at a time from then on.

@@DesertDIY Thank you 🙏 so much for listening to me on that day I really do appreciate you doing so!!! I don’t even know why I said all of that? I guess it feels good to get it out and to know what I can do about things. I’m getting things moved around figuring out if I can fix it or not. I fixed the farmhouse dumpster find that has a broken leg 🦵 and I got it cleaned up really good !!! It really does look 👀 so cute 🥰 in my dining room. Everything happens for a reason and I know I will have a story to tell why it happened. I have been dealing with some things that I never had to deal with before and I’m handling them. I’m so excited for you on you that you are pregnant and I hope 🤞 you are feeling good at this time. It would be a hard thing to go through being that sick for so long but you get a gorgeous baby out of it so it’s something to look forward to and cherish ❤️

Due to Covid I know a LOT of young families who are struggling with Christmas this year. I do what I can to help but my best advice is Dollar Tree. They have the supplies and decorations to make it festive without breaking the bank. A $20 donation can go a long way at Dollar Tree. Thanks for the awesome video and letting me share it!
