I think for the majority of people who were raised in the church have it the hardest... they are conditioned to be religious instead of really having a relationship with Jesus. Unfortunately, they seem to be convinced they are saved and checking off the church box, and their lives look lukewarm as ever. Those of us who knew nothing then are saved are filled with the holy ghost and know it takes a real transformation and its welcomed we are filled with gusto to go all in. We are met with "It doesn't take all that".

I’ve been struggling with my sins since turning to Christ. I want to change but don’t have to strength to do so. I’ve asked God for help but I haven’t changed fully. I look at it as I’m not ready, not him abandoning me. I pray I can become better, I don’t think I’ll ever feel saved

@@ImaSuburban it’s not meant for us to do alone. Sin is the very thing that makes us more aware of how much we need God. Keep seeking, praying and reading God’s word and your life will slowly transform. It’s a marathon and not a sprint, I would suggest if you’re healthy enough to go on a three day water fast and replace your meal times with prayers, sermons and reading the Bible. These are the very things I did that gave me power over the things I kept struggling with after I was saved. And if you truly believe in Christ as your personal savior, believe that He died for your sins and rose on the third day, then YOU ARE SAVED!

@@DavidMirambi I guess for me I 100% believe in Jesus and what he did for me and you. But I can’t help feeling like a fraud. Ik as believers we will never be sinless but the fact that I struggle so much w lust, drunkenness, anger and cursing makes me feel like I didnt really commit, like I’m one foot in, one foot out. I do wish I could change over night but I’ve always been impatient. Ik we shouldn’t rely on feelings but I can’t help feeling that I only want to please Jesus to get to Heaven not because I love him. And I’ve cried many times crying out for God to forgive me and change my heart. I’ve heard It’s like my flesh desires these things but my mind tells myself the opposite but I eventually give in. I doubt my experience is unique to me but condemnation from Satan is strong. I will take your advice to fast. That’s probably what I’ve needed to do for awhile. Hopefully it’s just rough now and with 2020 hindsight everything will be alright. Thank you for your response though it means a lot. I’m often too afraid to discuss the deepest insecurities I have about my relationship with Christ.

You are saved, the devil makes you doubt Christ's saving power. It sounds like you have a genuine heart for Christ. It is a tough battle, and we will never be without sin. Just keep trying, and keep coming back to God and leaning on Him.

a year ago, i realized creation without a creator was impossible. a little later, i realized Jesus was fully God and fully man. i was still in my sin after realizing this. one night, while smoking a bowl in my garage, God said ENOUGH. he filled me with the Holy Spirit. it felt like i was on fire and being electrocuted at the same time and i’ve never felt so good. as soon as i felt His presence and peace, i just said “hi, thank you” and in that moment the feeling doubled, even tripled. i got scared because it felt like i was dying (no drug or substance on this earth, not even heroin i don’t think, could have given me this feeling). so i opened the door to go inside, and in that moment, i dropped to the floor SO FAST and hard. it was like God took out my soul and in a split second put it back in my body. my faith hasn’t wavered since. please pray for me, i need strength to be a good example for the people I am trying to bring to Jesus.

Your response, "Hi, thank you" made me think of something I do every morning now, that I would encourage for others. Every morning, I try to have the first thing I do, be to say "good morning" to the Lord, thanking Him for preserving me through the night (or maybe thanking Him for restful sleep), and thanking Him for another day. It is a good and true way to begin each day. God bless!

Thank you for your message, brother! With God's grace, we come to understand that the sacrifices are _worth it,_ as we are made into Christ's image (Rom. 8:29, 2 Cor. 3:18), growing in relationship with Him, and learning to put our trust in Him. As Paul knew, even the trials and tribulations, the suffering that happens at times for each of us, is temporary (Rom. 8:18) and brings about our good and God's glory (1 Pet. 4:12-13). God is good and worthy of praise!

“You work because you received grace. You don’t work for grace.” That’s good. And yes, He wants us to give up our “entire lives.” Amen. Thomas Watson said, “Christ is never loved til sin be loathed.” The Western church has made two significant errors on both ends of the spectrum - either an error of belief in Christ without any life change is the same as salvation, or our own striving somehow earns us merit before a Holy God. Both are unbiblical. Our adoration for Jesus should grow daily, where sin is disgusting and our thirst and hunger for righteousness that comes from abiding in Him drives us to the foot of the cross…the cross that was a cosmic disturbance; routing darkness, defeating death, announcing to the chaos that it will one day come back to order, spanning all time and all creation, and signifying to creation the return of its rightful King and the removal of the curse of sin forever. God bless you brother

Romans 3:21-28 (KJV) 21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; 22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. 27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. 28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. 1 Peter 1:18-19 (KJV) 18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; 19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Romans 5:9 (KJV) 9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. Ephesians 1:7 (KJV) 7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV) 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. Romans 6:23 (KJV) 23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Gosple of Salvation for the church age 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 (KJV) 1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

🤦🏾‍♀️ The previous guy I dated judged me for being honest and saying this same thing in reference to myself. I went to church at different periods of my childhood but wouldn’t say that I grew up in the church and DEFINITELY wasn’t raised in a Christian household. I’ve always known that there was something greater than man but fell into the trap of thinking Christianity was a just a made up White man’s religion, for the majority of my life. The last few years I’ve gone through a spiritual transformation that I’m still in the midst of and am rediscovering Christianity with total new eyes! I say that I’m a follower of Christ because I believe in the Holy spirit and I strive to be Christlike, but I’m still growing in it. I do not call myself a Christian because talk is cheap and labels are often just extensions of our egos. I believe that I shouldn’t refer to myself as such, until I’ve truly been born again. The guy I dated thought I was confused or that my faith wasn’t genuine because I said this. Like no, it’s a journey and while I don’t ever expect to be perfect, I do think I understand the transformation of the heart that’s required (enough to know that I’m not there). But no mistake, as I also understand that tomorrow isn’t promised. I read scripture and pray everyday, I fast everyday and am in honest conversation with God often, about the quality of my heart, as I know its transformation is dependent upon my relationship with Him. Thoughts? If you were gracious enough to read all that 😅. I’m wondering what more I can do to grow in my faith. Finding the right community is a challenge! Blessings 🙏🏾

@@chishah7983 thank you for sharing this. If you were not saved, you wouldn’t have the desire to read the scriptures to get to know God or even fast. The fact that there is a yearning heart inside of you that is pursuing God is evidence of the Holy Spirit working inside of you. It is God who has given you the whole new perspective of his faith, so dwell in it. Enjoy the scripture reading, his presence in the midst of your fasts, the transformation of your heart! It’s a marathon and not a sprint, so bask in His presence, ask, seek, knock for more of His guidance and wisdom and He shall give it to you. Don’t read scripture to check it off the list, see it as the very word of God being spoken to you. A community is one of the most important things a believer must have. Iron sharpens iron and that can’t happen on bedside Baptist. Find a local church, join it and serve as long as they are preaching sound doctrine. Join a Bible study group where you can ask questions and grow in your faith alongside others. Blessings 🙏🏿

This is right and wrong at the same time. Yes, you are saved ONLY trough faith & grace NOT of your works or good behavior. If u trust in ur works or whatever ur on ur way to hell u need to believe in Jesus Christ His sacrifice alone to be saved, BUT saying that ur not saved when u keep sinning is actually the opposite from the Gospel, cause if it would be so, Ephesians 2:8-9 would have no meaning because it would not be of grace anymore but of works This does not mean that we can sin without consequences. We are going to get punished here on the earth and we are also not going to have riches/treasures in heaven. But it has NOTHING to do with ur salvation, because it is of faith & grace alone!

My brother I didn’t finish watching the video before commenting but man be careful when judging fellow believers for hanging out with people of questionable character and then determining that they aren’t saved because by the same standards God will judge you for whatever bad you got going in your life as said in Matthew 7:1-2 and even Luke 6:37. Once you’re done reading those read Romans 14:13 1 John 1:8-9 and connect the dots none of us are worthy
