I have never seen someone so young exude so much confidence. The playing is faultless. His bow action is also the straightest I’ve seen of any player. Although he is the soloist and takes the applause, this doesn’t stop him from acknowledging the orchestra. A brilliant and humble violinist who is going a very long way.

Absolutely amazing! He added more soul to his playing than any other musician, and this honestly is probably the best version of Vivaldi's summer that I have heard

I agree fully! He plays the difficult parts incredibly well, unlike those “Got Talent” contestants that don’t even play those parts. I love this recording, and Christian has boosted my interest for Vivaldi. I’ll always remember this recording!

This piece by Vivaldi is so fast it’s almost unimaginable that any big clumsy adult could ever play it with such precision as this kid has. Vivaldi may have had a violin orchestra of really fast little people in mind.

What you say is very perceptive, as interestingly enough, Vivaldi composed all the Four Seasons concerti for performance by the students at a girls school - “El Pio Ospedale della Pieta,” which was a girls school dedicated to orphaned girls. He worked as the Maestro de Violino (violin teacher) there and wrote some of his most famous works during that period of time. Thank you for taking the time to comment.

I'm very glad to see that these days: Christian's right elbow has settled down to a more appropriate height. If he continued to play like he did in this video it could've lead bicep problems as well as shoulder problems. I'm sure it was something he did subconsciously in order to gain more sound (by 'pressing' into the strings).

I had great teachers when I was younger and they were always pointing out the finer details that I too were unaware of. Health is important in general of course but also completely unavoidable injuries is an aspect I really like to address. Thanks for your upload of this video. I agree that Christian Li's playing is magnificent. Such an ability is often referred to a a gift, which implies that - as a gift - it is "given", but musicians of this stature will all tell you that to play to this level requires 99.9% hard work and persistence and single-mindedness. Perhaps the real "gift" is having wonderful supportive and loving parents and being able to access the best teachers. Thank you for taking the time post your thoughtful and supportive comment.

I agree. But thankfully, he is now becoming more well known. In 2020 he signed with Decca Classics (he was only 12 years old) and became the youngest musician to sign with the label. That's quite amazing, isn't it? Thank you for taking the time to post y our comment.

I know exactly what you mean! But I guess that's just what these wunderkinder are like. I understand he likes rollerskating, skateboarding and playing sport too, and somehow you just KNOW he'd also be a high-achiever at his schoolwork at the same time. I'm looking forward to hearing his playing as he gets older - I get the feeling that we're in for something pretty special in the future. (Oh - and thanks for commenting.)
