I think you have made a very big mistake in becoming a Muslim! But each to his own!

I embraced Islam when I was 17yrs old, and it took me a year to learn a few basics, met other brothers, and made new friends at the masjid. I'm 49 now and spent most of my life as a practising Muslim. I have the same group of friends, and we pray in the same masjid 32yrs later.

This was me 5 years ago, alhamdulillah im practicing and my father reverted also. I still have family that doesn't know but if they ask i will not deny my faith. I also grew up in a tight knit Christian community and the sad truth is some people would rather see you be an atheist over a Muslim. But Allah SWT guides who he wills. How can you identify and know the truth? Me becoming a Muslim was a progression after years of study in the church. When i converted to islam, my family and my mother was soo sad. I was in london at the time. Im from brazil btw, and she cry sooo much over the phone and was a very hard time i pass, but i was so sure about islam and i keep strong. After fell weeks they all calm down and start to accept and when they see that i change and i was a better person. They all accept… no member of my family accept islam yet but they are very happy about me and i hope Allah guide them to islam, inshaAllah. And i also understand when she said that her head was with islam and the heart was with christianity because i used fell the same even after i converted was hard to detach the felling i was felling for christianity and jesus.. but as i study and ler more about islam and the prophet Muhammad s.w.a. I reverted 3 weeks ago and I have had multiple Christians who found out that I became Muslim all I had from them was laughable arguments and complaints and borderline harassment. But I also had friends from 15 years that have said how ridiculous I am for believing in and try to say its fake and only for certain people . I will never invalidate a person opinion but it seems Christians want to force their ideology on you but can't back their questions when given facts to their answers they dislike it but it also feels like loaded questions. But for me getting through it is I know what I know and the truth is in Allah and Islam and that Allah is the only one to fear and accept and not who leaves you in your family and social circles . Infact Allah works in these ways to allow you to move forward and removes what is not needed in your life.

I reverted 35 years ago, my mum reverted a year later. I kept praying for my dad and my sister and alhamdulillah my dad took his shahada a few months before he died in 2021 and my sister, the last of my family to do so, accepted Islam earlier this year. I know other families where something similar happened and others still who remained stubborn but your parents love you Rachel and although they may be sad and disappointed at first, they'll come around InshaAllah. You'll be able to explain that Jesus is beloved in Islam too and as you learn more you'll be able to gently explain more to them.

The thing that gave me courage to finally do my shahada was to think the following: who am I more scared to offend? Quran 2:22 ˹He is the One˺ Who has made the earth a place of settlement for you and the sky a canopy; and sends down rain from the sky, causing fruits to grow as a provision for you. So do not knowingly set up equals to Allah ˹in worship˺. Mention about Muhammad being a messenger: Quran 3:144 Muḥammad is no more than a messenger; other messengers have gone before him. If he were to die or to be killed, would you regress into disbelief? Those who do so will not harm Allah whatsoever. And Allah will reward those who are grateful. About angel gabriel: Quran 2:97 "Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Whoever is an enemy of Gabriel should know that he revealed this ˹Quran˺ to your heart by Allah’s Will, confirming what came before it-a guide and good news for the believers.” Now, why does revelation in the cave of Hira matter? From what I know, the prophet receives revelations periodically and not directly all in one place.

Things were said, I was an outcast and it was tough but things are getting better now. I was a Catholic and I enjoyed many things about the church but in my heart some things didn’t make sense and Brother Ali discussed those things with you. When I was a Catholic, we prayed to Jesus, Mary, God and the Holy Spirit and other Christians didn’t. Rachel. My wife is from a hardcore Roman Catholic parents. She hated media version of Muslims. She started studing Islam to PROVE IT WRONG. Since she never actually hated Islam, it opened the door for her to learn more. When she asked her priest some questions, she was told "don't ask questions, just believe". In Islam, she is encouraged to ask questions and learn more. She and many of her friends accept Islam. She told her family days later. They never said anything bad or hurtful (unexpected). They treat me with utmost respect. You can introduce your family some videos of Islam speeches or debates, whatever their interest is.

Islam is best yes. But in this case, while yes it is true that fear is also a main point keeping her from accepting Islam. But she seems not to be convinced yet and also seems to know almost nothing at all about it. But then again she knows almost nothing of Christianity too. You can’t expect someone to just change their faith or religion overnight or with little to no knowledge of it. In fact, she would be more than stupid to leave right now in such condition. For Accepting a new faith, one has be FULLY persuaded and convinced and WANT IT 100% no matter what. They also need to understand it and at least all the basics and read and study it first. They shouldn’t rush it but take their time. This has always been my advice even when I was a Christian pastor and in many many different denominations. This is what I did before changing faiths. Though I’ve changed many times myself, still I took many years to study each time before switching. But now I’m confident Islam is what I was looking for all along and Is the truth.

I was born a Muslim, though I had not been practicing for a few years. This year I made the conscious decision to return to the faith with sincerity. As someone brought up in the US, without an Islamic education I’ve always had so many questions about the things that didn’t make sense to me or perhaps agitated the western feminist beliefs I’d bought into (working on decolonizing my frame of references now more than ever). I think it is through your videos I’ve truly understood the infallibility of the Quran, no one before has ever presented the religion to me in such a rational way. I was at the exact point as Rachel. I accepted Islam with my brain, I couldn't reject all the scientific facts I've read in the Quran, I couldn't reject that Muhammad is a prophet of God. Sister Rachael I find more comfort in the Quran than any hillsong song or any worship high. After you get home, and after the social group wears out and after the concert and the songs and the good vibes, you feel empty. You feel confused. What you’re missing is Islam. Study it truly. Listen to Surah Duha. Hear it and listen to the translations. I live alone in another state, i dont live with my parents anymore and we still bump heads - I am not married but I am SO CONTENT being Muslim. I would love to move to an Islamic country. This is my dream 🤲🏻

My dad got so upset and emotionally aggressive when I reverted, now he accepted it. I never really feared him getting upset because I never thought he could reject such a Religion. Turns out he had a lot of misconceptions that now some how are soften after a Ramadan TV news he saw me in and my community.

I'm a born Muslim in my 40s and come from a practising family. In all my life, I have never felt that jannah was described as a sexual place.I only get this notion from westerners when I started watching KZread. In my mind when I was a child until I became an adult who went for classes to study Arabic and tadabbur if the Qur'an, the jannah will and always be for me a place of peace and unimaginable pleasure of which the biggest happines is to see the face of my Lord.

Also i don't think a person who only calls themselves to be a muslim should be even considered one, it's not forced upon them so a forced faith is not even true but there are other situations. however, the right thing to do before killing that person (if someone actually does that) is stay with them for 40 days and teach them about the actual religion, and it's their decision afterwards

Islam is truth because Islam teaches strict monotheism, instills the best way of life for an individual, offers the best reorganization of society and state as a whole, and provides answers to existential questions. Religion that calls you to submit to The Almighty, commands you to live a clean life, and tells you to enjoin good and eradicate evil - such religion cannot be false. This is why Islam is the truth.

@powerant6139 Strict monotheism the belief in & worship of One True Unseen, Almighty God & no joining of other partners in worship alongside Him, the Shammaa, is what all the prophets taught including Christ. The concept of Trinity is as you correctly said, made by the church & would not then be included as strict monothiesm theTrinity as strict monothiesm. The concepts of a Trinity & begotten son were deemed as fabricated verses by 32 of your own Christian scholars who removed them from the bible around 1950 ish.

Sister I am born and raised in Missouri and the area I live in is full of "Christians" as well. But it's the minority in the country as a whole. dont worry about family and other people worry about your soul and your faith with God. Read the Quran and open your mind to the truth. I did it and it was the greatest thing that I ever did.

Sister Rachel you seem really genuine and I wish you well. I’m also American and understand your fear of your family and community shunning you, i won’t say who but one of my parents and some of my family were against it very much so, now years later they’re so proud too see how I’m doing and that I’m happy, I’m still the same person they’ve always loved it’ll never change! You can still love and support your family & friends long as it’s not opposing Islam or trying to force you too not be Muslim I have faith you’ll do what’s right and find the truth wish you well!

@user-vs8sj6ut6b gladly. 1- Qur'an doesn't specifically say Isa is the same as Jesus. Isa is the Arabic name for Jesus or Yeshua (in aramaic). But it would be pretty obvious for any observer that the Isa being referred to in the Qur'an is Jesus. If it wasn't, the Christians of that time would be the first to object. Isa also was born miraculously without a father like Jesus, he spoke in the cradle like Jesus, he healed the sick (with the permission of God) like Jesus etc etc. 2- Taha 20:14 "It is truly I. I am Allah! There is no god ˹worthy of worship˺ except Me. So worship Me ˹alone˺, and establish prayer for My remembrance." 3- Ali 'Imran 3:144 "Muḥammad is no more than a messenger; other messengers have gone before him. If he were to die or to be killed, would you regress into disbelief? Those who do so will not harm Allah whatsoever. And Allah will reward those who are grateful." Al-Ahzab 33:40 "Muḥammad is not the father of any of your men, but is the Messenger of Allah and the seal of the prophets. And Allah has ˹perfect˺ knowledge of all things." Al-Fath 48:29 "Muḥammad is the Messenger of Allah. And those with him are firm with the disbelievers and compassionate with one another. You see them bowing and prostrating ˹in prayer˺, seeking Allah’s bounty and pleasure. The sign ˹of brightness can be seen˺ on their faces from the trace of prostrating ˹in prayer˺. This is their description in the Torah. And their parable in the Gospel is that of a seed that sprouts its ˹tiny˺ branches, making it strong. Then it becomes thick, standing firmly on its stem, to the delight of the planters-in this way Allah makes the believers a source of dismay for the disbelievers. To those of them who believe and do good, Allah has promised forgiveness and a great reward" 4- as far as I know, there's no mention of the cave Hira in the Qur'an. It's not something we consider important, or something on which we base our creed on. If revelation came to him in a cave or his house or in the market place, it's of no importance for us. Our belief is in what's revealed, not where the revelations came down to. 5- the evidence you're asking for cannot be proven physically today since we didn't have people with cameras recording the incident. 🥴💀 But the proof lies within the fact that book he came with challenged the best of Arabic speaking poets, who prided themselves on their eloquence, to bring a surah like that of the Qur'an. The shortest surah in the Qur'an is just 3 verses. People have tried for 14 centuries, but couldn't make 3 verses that could compete with the Qur'an. The Qur'an itself does mention that it was the Spirit that brought down the revelation, but you'd probably think it's a circular evidence and not accept it. Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:97 "Say, [O Muhammad], whoever is an enemy to Gabriel - it is [none but] he who has brought the Qur'an down upon your heart, [O Muhammad], by permission of Allah, confirming that which was before it and as guidance and good tidings for the believers." - If we're to take the "he was visited by the devil" approach, (which is a common Christian allegation 🥴) we can debunk that too. If that was indeed the devil, why would the devil ask the readers of the Qur'an to seek refuge against him from God? Why would the devil tell the polytheists of Arabia to stop worshipping idols (which the devil likes). Why would he tell us to stop drinking alcohol, to stop gambling, to stop fornication, to stop killing infants, to stop stealing? I could go on, but I think you get my point!? I hope that answers your questions. If you have more, let me know.

Just makes me so appreciative of being raised in a Muslim household. I am so grateful for the guidance that Allah has given me and pray he continues to give me. I pray for Rachel to be given the same and she accepts Islam. May Allah swt make it easy for her.

@@Tomf-tz4pd the prophet could not be a fake prophet. his whole life is documented… infact (and I dare you to disprove me) no personality in humanity has a more detailed biography than prophet Muhammad ﷺ. if he was a fake prophet why would he not hide away from questions by the people around him? all of his statements and actions are those of a prophet, they never contradict Islam to the smallest parts. and they are so benificial… how did the prophet ﷺ know what's important to us at all times? in this video I learned few things from him. for example the brother said the most famous dua of Muhammad pbuh (my lord keep my heart muslim) steadfastness is what a Muslim should fokus most on, it makes sense. because if you have the truth, all you have to emphasise on is to keep being on truth

There are people who claim on social media that they were Muslims and left Islam, 99 percent of them are lairs and fake ex Muslims . Such as Shiites ( Shea) they are hypocrites , Christians and atheists because they hate Islam and want to introduce doubt into the hearts of Muslims with their lies. There are Muslims in name only, who have not applied the teachings of Islam and the Qur’an not for a single day in their lives and They have never read the Qur'an in their lives, They leave Islam for the sake of worldly desires, or to obtain residency in Western countries, or for sake of money and attaining wealth. The proof of my words is the number of Muslims is increasing and Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world, and this is recognized by European and American TV channels. The Shiites ( Shea) in the Middle East have a different belief from the Muslims belief and are more similar to the Christians belief. The Shiites worship( Ali) and say he is the god and creator of the universe. Shiites leave their religion, which has nothing to do with Islam, and then they appear on social media and say, “I was Muslim and I left Islam.” You must be careful, especially in Iran, Iraq, Lebanon and the Arab Gulf countries. Shiites ( Shea} do not apply the teachings of the Holy Qur’an and the prophet Muhammad (pbuh) , but rather they apply the teachings of their clerics and religious leaders.

Salaamu Alaikum to all the LATEST converts..... listen I'm in Minneapolis, MN. when I Reverted back to Islam we only had 7 places to pray at and this was (1989).... Now we have over a 100 Masjid, and Musallah, within the Twin Cities and some places were having ( 3) Jumah prayer service and also they're literally having prayer at schools and the Hospitals and now this August 2023 also had Eid at ...U.S.BANK STADIUM 2 TIMES consistent of 40, 000,00. Muslims. Multiple churches are being bought so what he's saying is 100% correct and just this year we're been giving the right to call the Adhan over the intercom at the Masjid....2023 for All the prayers.... Subhan'llah..

I think it'll be best for her to talk to actual reverts of Islam in America (especially muslimahs). So, that she can understand how to cast her fear away (in this case losing her family).

Don't say never. My father requested to be shrouded as Muslim before he passed away. My mother was the most staunchest Catholic but towards the end of her life she did recite the Shahadah still she was buried the Christian way. But Allah knows best.

Brothers Wallahi we should be thankful we haven't been in a situation like hers, she's stuck in between following Christianity even with all the doubts just to not disappoint her family and her community, and following Islam out of conviction and certainly but disappoint her circle... she even said her heart is with Christianity but her mind is with Islam. Up till today with advancement in learning and knowledge nobody could meet the challenge of over 1400 years to produce a book like it.

This was absolutely beautiful to watch and the brother was amazing, honest, sincere, and kind in getting the message across with knowledge ma sha Allah. We all need reminders and how to answer common questions and misbeliefs when asked in a similar manner and most importantly practice ourselves as good role models for believers of other faiths.
