Salam alaykum brother Pete. Amen to your dua. I am so happy for you. I am a revert also and Islam is the biggest gift. It brings peace and contentment to your heart and mind. As brother Muhammad said take it step by step. Focus on reading the Qur'an, and learning about prophet Muhammad's life (peace be upon him). Slowly learn how to pray. Be very patient with your family / relatives. If you can give them a copy of the Qur'an that would be nice. Then lead by example by showing good manners, being kind, helping them out, etc. But it is Allah who turns peoples hearts. I pray that Allah blesses you, protects you, and rewards you, and guides your family to the truth.

Fun story time! Before I converted I had a lot of questions about the bible and was always told to "have faith". It took a Muslim man that made me mad enough to prove him wrong. I prayed to be guided to the truth, thinking I would get the info to prove him wrong. I was guided to Islam and found EVERY ANSWER TO EVERY QUESTION I had. I converted a year later after learning a lot and married that Muslim man five years later.

@Tom "ego eimi" does not mean "I am that I am". The same words are used by normal human beings😂 the gospel attributed to a John is also the least reliable gospel. In all of the 3 oldest gospels Jesus never said any of that. And according to 2 Peter it refers to pre destination and not pre existence, because Jesus was revealed at his time. So Jesus couldn't not have existed before. In the gospel attributed Mark Jesus rejects being God:" why do you call me good, only God is good." And the messenger of God is an angel of God. God speaks through him just like when you here me through a phone or radio. It does not mean that I am the Radio. On top of that, no one ever saw God or his face.

For someone who literally got great problems learning new language let alone memorise it! I am absolutely amazed at how Qur'an CAN be memorised BY ANYONE! Truthfully, although I'm Muslim by birth, teaching my 3 years old child the Arabic Qur'an, and seeing the results, I truly attested what 17:10 Allah swt. STATED in the Qur'an that Allah swt. MADE it EASY for EVERYONE! It's like your mouth WANTS to speak the words of the Creator! Subhanallah! AllahuAkhbar! If you listen and speaking the of the prayers or even hearing others saying it, you'll realise that the words are like poems! The words MATCHED with each other therefore YOUR MOUTH knew what words should be uttered NEXT! SUBHANALLAH! Ameen, Ya Rabbal Al Ameen.....

Different languages spell it differently, depending on which sounds the letters make in their languages. In English spelling it’s Mashallah, French Machallah, Bosnian Mašallah, Turkish/Azeri Maşallah, German Maschallah, Indonesian/Malay Masyallah, etc.

What I love about the new Muslims before confirmation is their face of fear.
