Chris Sabin: Motor City Machine Guns reunion, AJ Styles "didn't like me at first", X Division

Ойын-сауық

Chris Sabin sits down with Chris Van Vliet from his home just outside of Detroit, MI. He talks about the Motor City Machine Guns getting back together at Slammiversary, what it took to get Alex Shelley to agree to return to Impact Wrestling, their favorite tag teams to wrestle, recovering from his third knee surgery, why he thought he wasn't ready when he won the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, the fact that AJ Styles didn't like him at first, how unpredictable the Ultimate X structure was during the first match and much more!

This was easily one of my all time favorite interviews. Sabin is possibly the most underrated Great Professional Wrestlers of all time. He’s awesome with fans as well. My family had the honor of meeting him in passing a few years ago in Mt Pleasant. He didn’t hesitate to talk to us and give us a minute of his time, truly a Champion and a Sportsman. ⚡️✋👈⚡️

I already know the AJ Styles thing is true because I remember AJ mentioning it before. It was something about Chris coming in and AJ thought he was a young athletic good looking kid that could potentially steal, his spot but later looked at it from another perspective of Sabin could be someone who could bring more money to the company which in the long run would help everyone out.

Tyrone JR I’m not gonna say you’re wrong cuz it’s all subjective, but imo AJ has improved and evolved at a higher rate than Sabin has and just has more of the It factor. But again I think Sabin is badass especially thru his 05-2010 run in TNA

The Guns came together in Pro Wrestling Zero1, in August of 2006. They held the NWA International Lightweight Tag Team Championship there for 590 days. That match against Dick Togo & Ikuto Hidaka is one of my favorites along with The Guns facing off against The Briscoe's in ROH in 2007, and against Jushin Liger & Ultimo Dragon in UWA Hardcore.

Many wrestlers either made their names as tag teams then becomimg singles (Hollywood Blonds, Hardy Boyz, The Rockers, Steiner Brothers), singles then briefly as tag teams without official team names before becoming singles again (almost every main eventer), or becoming a dominant tag team throughout the majority of their career (Dudley Boyz, Young Bucks). Sabin however is one of the very few talents who went from as a dominant single-run champ, to becoming dedicated to work in one of the best tag teams in pro-wrestling history. Hail, Sabin.
