    @@4realGTFOH The 2016 Thunder and 2018 Rockets gave the Warriors the biggest problem that Klay had to bail them out with two historical GM 6 Klay performance. I still don't understand how GS fans discredit Klay after he went down with those two major injuries. As long as Steve Kerr manages to stagger CP3 minutes like he did for Otto Porter Jr in the 2022 season, then Warriors would be fine since Otto was a injury prone player like CP3 but he was able to play through the end. I'm waiting to see if GS can sign D Howard so he can guard Jokic and AD when they meet in the postseason since we looked too small against LAL last year. This season is going to be just like the 2021-22 where Steph and GS will start off hot.

    As a Bay Area sports fan, Chris Paul joining the Warriors reminds me of when Richard Sherman signed with the Niners. Both were initially unpopular among the local fan base before joining their new teams, and, in the case of Uncle Sherm, it actually worked out quite well-though, unfortunately, there wasn't a Super Bowl victory to cap it off.

These are pro athletes past their physical prime, there is no thing as "being healthy". They are coping with chronic injury. And Paul is done. Over. His lack of size could only be mitigated when he was 10 years younger at least. That's long gone. There is no upside to his game. None.

    Dray and CP3 might be huge trash talkers but even more than that they're professionals with an incredible desire to win, so it doesn't matter if they don't like each other because they have mutual respect and just need to make it work on the court. The history of sport is full of winning teammates that didn't really get along, but even so do you really think the Dubs would've traded for CP3 without first getting the OK from Steph, Dray and Klay? The trade might not work out in terms of basketball although I think it will if he embraces the 6th man/death line-up role, however it won't be due to a lack of off-court chemistry.

    I do believe that Dray thinks of Steph as a brother, but he will allow certain people to disrespect Steph in front of him, such as people from his management agency. That aside, I don't believe he'll have an issue with CP3 on the court or in the locker room, despite their past issues.

    Thing is CP3 just landed on his feet in golden state when he was let go on free fall by the suns a team he made relevant when they had nothing to contend ... there is nothing that can ruin this chance of a life time... draymon will embrace CP3 for ease his load of game play development.

    I'm a huge Dubs fan (and big CP3 hater), so this is difficult. My HOPE is that the Dubs are just pulling another D'Lo. Let CP3 cook for the beginning of the season (when he's healthy), and highlight him in the offense. Then trade him. If we do ANYTHING other than that, then this is the stupidest trade of all time.

    Your point is absolutely right. Warriors got rid of JP to get rid of him and his contract and they got Paul because that's a cheap and short contract and they can trade him with some value easy peasy.

  • @retrocny5625
    @retrocny56258 ай бұрын

    And yet Draymond Green in multiple interviews has said his personal goal, and many on the warriors feel the same way, is "to get CP his first ring". His words. Now obviously Draymond wants to win another ring regardless, of course lol. And yes, both the Clippers(Lob City era) and the Rockets were huge rivals of the Warriors. Right before the Warriors got over the hump and became a championship caliber team, the Clippers gave them all sorts of issues in the western conference...and you have Chris Paul largely to thank for that. The reason that I think this is going to work, is CP has the same sort attitude that Draymond has. That competitive drive, the no bullshit approach, and I think they'll gel nicely over that. I also think CP will appreciate the total system Kerr has in place over there. And I think at CP's age, with how much he wants to get a ring before he retires, he'll make sacrifices to make this work. Just thinking about it though, a small ball lineup with CP starting at the point and steph as the 2 guard, given how lethal steph is OFF the ball? And how good CP's passing vision is? That may be really fucking deadly. Klay can play the 3, Wiggins the 4, Draymond at the 5. That's a super small ball lineup lol. Or you just bring CP off the bench for some playmaking and generating some offense when the starters are resting. I don't think it's a mistake at all that they picked him up, honestly.

    As long as CP3 accepts he can't always be a starter, then they have a good chance. I thought him and Draymond would clash but they've been training together.

    It seems pretty obvious to me that they traded for Chris Paul's contract the same way they did the DeAngelo Russell for KD sign and trade. Paul will be moved at some point, maybe with Kuminga or some other sweetener to get someone who fits the same way bringing in Wiggins was a fit.

    Salary dump for Poole. CP3's deal isn't fully guaranteed. So, they could waive him next year if it doesn't work out. And, Poole is a horrible fit, if we're being honest. He just chucks up shots, and is very inefficient. The only thing I don't get is reports say he'll start. They already have Steph at 1 and a playmaker in Draymond. I can't see the fit. But off the bench, CP3 can raise other's plays. He'd be perfect with their young bench.

    @@yapyap3 yeah, on court wise & coming off the bench I can sorta see the logic, but everything else I don't. The bad personal history of the past could be a potential powder keg; just seems like GS could of picked up some better role players instead. CP is mostly past his prime.

    I've bought a lot of popcorn already. Everybody's just waiting for this CP3 experiment to explode but kidding aside they need to give CP3 a chance. Whether he's on the starting five or on the second unit, he will play like the way he plays which is to orchestrate the offense and knockdown his killer midrange jumpers. I think the Loon-Dray-Wigss-Steph-CP3 lineup is lethal as well.

    What do you mean?? Trying to win is good. Being competitive in sports is necessary and lacking in many new players who seem to play for attention. He fits them perfectly and they are going to perform and be very dangerous this year for the very reasons they hated him. An excellent passer that has great work ethic and a resolve to win shouldn't have a problem with their own teammates. I'm still mad that we didn't get him on the Lakers.

    It is Kerr & his staff's job to clock the temple n manage the flow of the game. If n when Chris is detrimental to the 1st team, he can be beneficial to the 2nd lineup. Dray wud not even get involved to coach Chris, let alone get into conflct. These two are mature enough on winning the big prize. Big picture, Chris adds way more than subtracts. GSW is a true super team comes 2024 with super 5 for starters.

    The Warriors are the front-runners in the West - especially if they sign C Dwight Howard. Best statistical starting 5 in the NBA. CP3 will impact the Warriors 2nd unit whenever Curry rests, plus team roster upgrades from 2 timelines to win now (Poole for CP3, PBJ for TJD, Rollins for Joseph, Wiseman for GP2, JaMychal for Saric, possibly Dwight).
