One of the most memorable piano riffs in recent memory and dude wrote the song in just 15 mins.

Its called "automatic writing". Not uncommon among the great (and even lesser known) songwriters. That's not to diminish Chris, who to me is unfairly treated by musical elitists. The guy is a genius without a doubt. Somehow it became fashionable to malign Coldplay.

I like how he says “Ok” and goes straight into playing the most killer piano riff there is. Love this song so much

Howard: that is a powerful little riff there. Chris: ya but then Johnny put the chords under it. Howard: ya but that is a powerful little riff there... Chris: ya but then he put the chords under it. Howard: that is a powerful little riff there... Chris: ya but... (Summary: Chris has always had a tough time taking credit for his genius).

None of the best song writers seem to take full credit for their songs. They seem to believe the songs already existed and they just reveal themselves to the writer.
