    That man's a Chiefs legend. I hope he retires a Chief.. I hope when it comes to it, squeezing another 3, or 4, or 5 million or whatever it is, doesn't end up being more important to Chris than finishing his career in KC.

    Tom Brady made $235m over 20 years in Foxboro and $97m over 3 years with Tampa Bay. Should he have spent those 3 years with Bill in NE and substandard receiving corp while also taking undervalued deals. KC fans are more deluded than Duke basketball fans. Entitled.

Not giving the man certainty about his future sucks. He just wants a longer-term commitment, which is understandable. If he was just after the big bucks, he could've done a Tyreek.

    Chris is my all time favorite Chiefs player and I'm 61 years old. He's extremely intelligent, articulate, humble, personable, friendly, humorous and talented. The Chiefs wouldn't be the Chiefs without Chris. Mahomes and team simply would not have won any Superbowls if Chris wasn't a Chief. For God's sake, never ever get rid of Chris. Brett Veach must sign him or Brett Veach must be fired. I don't care what it costs to sign Chris. He must retire a Chief. It was bad enough to lose Tyreek Hill, but losing Chris would be equal to losing Travis Kelce. Chris is our identity. He's our community. There is no equal to Chris. And lastly, not to make this about race but Chris is the absolute best role model for black males. He's been such a gentleman, smart, family man. It would be the world's biggest mistake not keeping Chris. There are times when you must spend money and Chris is simply the best return on investment. I will never forgive the Chiefs if they don't keep him..

I think they can be still very good without him and find another Dt either in draft or free agency. He’s starting to get up there in age and won’t be the same player in the upcoming years. Also if you sign him probably you would have to let go of sneed, maybe a good OL piece, more difficult to sign a wr in FA etc. No thanks and if you can get a draft pick for him even better, and I’m not sure they could get one better than a 2nd

    A lot of people are going to be upset when Veach cannot sign what Jones is seeking. And if you take a deep breath for a moment and look at the overall picture. Jones will be very expensive if you pay Jones what he seeks then there goes the following players Gay, and Sneed. Veach will not put the franchise hostage in paying this 33 soon to be 34 year old player. His production is descending compared to last year. Yes Jones has helped the Chiefs close some close games. I agree with that logic. But because of a billion dollar generational talent at quarterback the Chiefs has to put money to where it makes sense. The approach from here on out will be staying young and less expensive. Call the Chiefs CHEAP ,all you want, but I guarantee none of you fans would let Mahomes walk for Chris Jones or any other player. Mahomes is the Chiefs' period, and the key is to put young players around Mahomes. On both sides of the ball. I am going to miss 95, but it is a business, and unless Jones wants to take a reasonable makes sense offer . He will be gone . Thank you 95 for putting in some great years with my Chiefs.

  • @florencehaber9847

    @florencehaber9847

    The Chiefs can only pay him up to a certain amount. If there is much more money and there will be for another team to pick Jones up, then Jones and his family will be the deciders if he goes for long term financial security and the money he can get which many players do, not because they are greedy but in football you are not playing until you are 50 years old. So, I won't fault Jones if he goes for the money that the Chiefs can't pay him or decides to stay stay with the Chiefs. But, the Chiefs not extending his contract past 2023 has me thinking he won't be getting the contract he would hope to get. And unfortunately this might be his last year with the Chiefs.
