    It always amazes me how it never looks like CJ was trying. He was outrunning every other player in the league, juking and changing direction like nobody else, and it looks like he was just out for a Sunday stroll in the park

    I am a die hard Saints fan, but also a football fan. CJ was freaking electric. I’d take his 2008-2010 years over any RB at the time. His quickness and acceleration was on a different level. Plus he could break tackles. He needs to be in the HOF.

It only measures quickness and partial acceleration because the fastest players do not reach top speed til about 50m out. They are still accelerating at the 40 yd mark. So the 40 cannot possibly determine who is the fastest when they aren't even running their fastest. And 4.24 is officially tied for the second quickest 40 with Rondell Menendez. Trindon Holliday's 4.21 is not official.

    @@rayhankazianga6817 Ok Kalon Barnes did run 4.23. So CJ is tied for 3rd quickest since 1999. Who says this is about playing football? The man said he was one of the "fastest" players to reach the NFL. There is no indication he was referring to ppl laying football.

    When he would get out in open space he almost made it seem like the field was bigger than it actually was. He was gliding and the defenders couldn't commit to any one direction because he was so fluid he could easily change direction without losing any momentum.

    Most definitely a NFL legend one of the greatest to do it From scrimmage 2,000 yards plus. He with the Marshall Faulk, Barry sanders, Terrell Davis. He is number 6 on that list no one has been after him yet.

    I always hated when people only talked about his speed. I believe a lot of his other skills went overlooked because everyone focused on his pure speed. He was a very good all-around RB. The speed was just icing on the cake. He would've been a starting NFL RB with 4.45 speed.

    Autodrafted CJ2k in 2009, round 12 or whatever, waived him b4 season started bcuz i didn't kno who he was. The next year autodrafted Arian Foster also in round 12, he then ran for 2k yards and i also waived him b4 season started.

    I think it’s cool how he evolved. in the beginning he mostly just ran past people, but as he got slower he had to use more finesse

    I don’t totally disagree, but the NFL today has such a focus on speed on defense. You need blown assignments to have these long runs because the speed linebackers, corners and safeties play at now the blocking doesn’t have a chance to develop downfield.

    @@d2cardboardnovice169 exactly. Look at the linebackers in the video. They’re slow, they were meant to come down hill and stop the run, they also didn’t need the coverage skills LBs need today. It’s why Johnson and Jamal Charles light the league on fire. They were just faster, and it reflected a ton in how drafting defensive changed after this. Speed became everything.
