    @@gdub8847 death of pure aew? u don't understand how much aew would struggle without big names in the beginning. sure, yu could argue they rely too much on them now, but if you decided to start ur own company, do you think everyone in the world would kno about it right away? jericho's following along with the elite/bullet club's high-rising popularity was a great combo to help the company's starting success. and tbh, their popularity was only temporary. it was peaking before the start of aew and was bound to start declining in 2019. everyone involved made all the right moves.

    @@gdub8847your point is invalid. Look at booker t’s promotion. Nobody outside of Houston really knows about it unless you see clips of booker wrestling at that promotion. You need and I mean absolutely need big names in the beginning of something to put it on the map

    @@petertarentaal983he can spit a promo in alot of the fans favorite wrestlers while adding a bit of reality and effortlessness in there to spice it up as his own. Its why he was perceived as a d*ck back then but is more well understood and loved nowadays. Even at the end of his wwe run with the list, its clear even though he started as a heel he had to basically turn face cuz the crowd loved him too much like Stone cold💀 will deffo be top 10 once he retires imo cuz he grew on me overtime growing up

    In having his name attached to AEW, especially him becoming the first World Champion for them. It made sense and very helpful for the company to captivate many new followers, even many wrestling fans who follow many indie wrestlers.

    I agree with Jericho that his program with Kevin Owens should have been a main event one. Goldberg vs. Brock at that Mania had enough hype around it that adding the Universal Championship was completely unnecessary.

    Me and friend went to watch a house show in London and to be honest Jericho was the highlight of the night “London , you just made the list !!!”

    Until this day, he is the guy in the company (other then Punk and maybe Christian or Sting) with the biggest name recognition. All other guys either had to change their name and lost significant name value or were unknown indy guys. Without him, there would’ve been no TV deal and no casuals turning in.

    27 yr old dude here , who stopped watching wrestling around 08' , and it's true that the whole reason I ever found out about AEW when it was starting is because of Chris Jericho being apart of it and I never was a Chris Jericho fan but I knew that he was a WWE Veteran and it surprised me that he was apart of competition of the place he's been with for YEARS.

    Chris Jericho was one of THE guys for me growing up. I sometimes wonder why he isn't mentioned when they speak of the greats because I personally think (combined with Shawn Michaels) he is who Seth Rollins is pulling from with his new Hollywood Rollins gimmick.
