Who is Chris Janson? He’s a “live legacy in the making” (Rolling Stone). Breakout country star Janson is a platinum-selling recording artist, high-octane entertainer, multi-instrumentalist, and award-winning singer/songwriter. In the five years since the release of his debut album, the three-time CMA nominee has collected prestigious accolades that place him amongst country music greats. He took home the trophy for ACM Video of the Year for his Gold-certified, inspiring hit song “Drunk Girl,” which also earned the Song of the Year title at the 2018 MusicRow Awards and was named one of the “Ten Songs I Wish I’d Written” by NSAI. His chart-topping, triple-Platinum smash “Buy Me A Boat” earned the same NSAI honor, making him one in a handful of the industry’s most elite artists to earn the title multiple times, as well as the iHeartRadio Music Awards Country Song of the Year. Now it’s onto new music for Janson: “Good Vibes,” the flagship single from his album Real Friends, and follow-up “Done” both topped the country charts and his current single, “Waitin’ On 5,” can be heard now on the airwaves. In addition to his own successes, the talented songwriter has lent his pen to industry peers including Tim McGraw (“Truck Yeah,” “How I’ll Always Be”), LOCASH (“I Love This Life”) and the legendary Hank Williams Jr. (“God Fearin’ Man,” “Those Days Are Gone”).
LYRICS:
Bye mom
That's what I said at five years old the first day of school
Already then I thought I was way too cool
I thought I had it figured out
And I didn't know a thing
Bye mom
Don't worry 'bout me, I'll see you at three at the bus stop
And I know that you'll be right there to pick me up
In the old truck
I know that's just the way it is
When you think you grown but you're still a kid
And you don't know you're somebody
That somebody loves more than themselves
And there's a beauty in the innocence
Of not knowing that the time they've spent
Is more than one could ask for
And that's a special kind of love
And it's only there for a lifetime, then it's gone
And it's bye mom
You can drop me off down the block around the corner square
All my buddies are waitin' for me just over there
I'll see you later on
Bye mom
It's a cap and a gown in a brand new town eight hours away
Don't cry, I'll be okay
I know that's just the way it is
When you think you grown but you're still a kid
And you don't know you're somebody
That somebody loves more than themselves
And there's a beauty in the innocence
Of not knowing that the time they've spent
Is more than one could ask for
And that's a special kind of love
And it's only there for a lifetime, then it's gone
And it's bye mom
And bye mom, I sang a million mornings at the Brine Street Baptist Church
And bye mom, I waited hours and hours 'til she got off of work
And bye mom, I stood and cried and laid a rose onto her grave
And bye mom, were the last words that I spoke before we sang Amazing Grace
I know that's just the way it is
When you're all grown up but you're still a kid
And you realize you're somebody
That somebody loves more than themselves
And there's a beauty in the innocence
Of not knowing that the time they've spent
Is more than one could ask for
And that's a special kind of love
And it's only there for a lifetime, then it's gone
Yeah, it's only there for a lifetime, then it's gone
And it's bye mom
Yeah, bye mom

😭😭 I sent this song to my two sons. They don't spend much time with me anymore. One has a wife and kids. The other goes out with his friends and girlfriend. He is 25 years old now my youngest. My health is deteriorating now I don't like to burden them with it. But they know I love them and gave my life for them. My journey in this world is almost over the pain my body is so unbearable but I thank God everyday for my two sons he gave me and bless me with. 💞

I leaned down and kissed her on the forehead, as she laid in that hospital bed. I whispered bye mom and never saw her again.

I lost my mother this last Mother’s Day. We were at her bedside. It was 5:12 pm on 5-09-2021 when I had to say bye mom. For those who still have your mother please cherish it. It’s painful. I’ve lost many loved ones but losing the one who gave you life takes a piece with you. Things will never ever ever be the same. Call your mothers. Tell them you love them. I have to look at a picture to tell mine

My Mom passed almost 5 years ago at the age of 90. My Dad had been gone for 18 years. She lived at home by herself. She had lots of family close by. I lived 5 miles from her. I saw just about every day and if i went anywhere id always see if she wanted go and she usually did. One day i missed a call from her and when i called back she didnt answer. Tried a couple more times and then went to check to see if she was out watering her flowers or her phone was down the side of her recliner this time. She was leaning half out of her chair. She had a stroke. She was alive and talking to me. She went to the hospital and never came back home. I didnt realize ehat a gigantic part she was in just about everything I did til i had to do them without her. I still find myself reaching for my phone to tell her sonething I know she'd laugh at.💔

I don’t want to lose my mom. She’s my best friend, my confidant, my counselor. I can’t imagine life without hearing her cheerful voice everyday

As adults we understand people come and go. But when it’s your mom it puts like in a different light. I lost my mom 4 years ago and she went out on her shield. Refused all chemotherapy and said “ I’ve waited my whole life to go home and meet Jesus “ she was a peanut but man was she a warrior. Like no other. This is life!!! The joys in the journey ❤️

I'm 67 and my mom died when I was 8 years old and never got the chance to really know her, but my father was awesome. He brought up 5 girls and one boy all on his own. I miss you dad and love you very much. ❤😢

She was my protector when dad left us, I was 6 years old. I was 27 and married when she died of terminal cancer, she was 70 years old. I’m 65 now, she’s been gone nearly 40 years and I still miss her.
