My husband and his mother danced to You'll Be In My Heart at our wedding :) it was especially touching since they had a brief falling out for a few years but made amends once we were engaged and now they're closer than ever. She could hardly stop herself from crying.

My son was born 6 1/2 weeks early. I remember rocking him in the NICU and singing "You'll Be In My Heart" to him. The line in it about the baby being small yet he seems so strong really hit me then.

Searched for the song I wanted to dance with my son to this September at his wedding and the PERFECT song...literally written for this mother/son song for his wedding is "A Song for My Son" by Mikki Viereck. Waltz tempo that's slow enough to feel safe. I am choreographing easy steps for my "less than confident dancer" son. Looking forward to practicing with him so we can surprise his bride and all guests and looking good together. Mostly, he is the only son I will ever share this dance with so it will be wonderful no matter what.

I legit find it baffling as to why this list has songs from Taylor Swift on it and not The Perfect Fan by the Backstreet Boys. The Mother/Son dance is supposed to be a moment that acknowledges and honors the mom for what she meant and means to the son. To not include The Perfect Fan is borderline criminal with lines like, "in hopes I can give back to you and be the Perfect Son," and "You showed me, just how to walk without your hands," essentially bursting with love and joy from a son to his mother.
