Yes but interesting how when the video is 100% positive for the car, everybody focuses on how much we all love Chris. But if the video has the slightest comment about a BMW, every internet sofa, people who never passed outside a BMW dealership let alone owned a BMW, start writing "comments" about how "BMW lost its way".

Love this...and agree, as you get older, your toys just come in bigger boxes! Traded in my M2 Comp last week (which I had for 3 years) for a M4 Comp XDrive. Felt rather emotional driving it to the dealership that last time, found myself stroking it gently and saying goodbye. Although a step down from the CS, I absolutely loved that car (tuned it to 520hp & Remus exhaust). It was a handful and thrilling...driving it felt like an event (especially during the winter months!). Still at the foreplay stage with the M4 (engine still at break-in), not really had a chance to get to know her (yet)...more grown up and capable, sure, but I know I'll miss my M2's raw thrills.

I’ve driven the new m3/4 and it feels like a 3/440i with more power - too refined and too dailyable. An m2c will be what an e46 is today and will be what a e30 m3 is today in years to come. Nice one , enjoy your new car ! I've just reviewed a 2022 M3 Comp Xdrive, and altough it is a superior car to the M2 , i've just found myself missing a bit of thrills... Everything is so seamless, you almost dont feel a gearchange, the sound from inside the cabin sounds rather dull & muted, en there's not a lot of steering feel or feedback... the Xdrive system is a pretty neat feature , in 4wd it's on rails , put it in 2wd and it becomes a drift superstar! But it is a enormously fast car , the speeds you achieve in very little time is mindblowing..we did a 0-100 kph in 3.61 seconds, on a warm day and on michelin ps4 s tires...i compared it more to a baby M5 than an grown f80 M3...

As a CS owner, all I can say is, don't move on. The more I drive this car the more I wouldn't give it up for anything. I had a modified 135i before this, and as much wild fun as that was, the CS is the perfect balance for local backroad carving and traceability. Even with the manual, it's actually enjoyable to drive in traffic with the light clutch and auto rev match. Only car I'd consider trading for is a GT3 Touring, but that's a big leap in price. Glad you've had such a good time with yours, Chris. My 2021 M2 Competition flooded itself with rain water with only 400km on the engine (presumably due to poor sunroof guttering fitment from the factory). I've spent almost 6 months trying to get BMW to treat it as a manufacturer warranty situation, which they've refused to do at every turn. It would appear that poor guttering and seals, leading to a brand new car flooding itself during regular rain is the customer's fault. As a result it's sat there almost entirely undriven, and still unrepaired for the entire year. My friend's sister-car in a neighboring state had fitment issues in the cockpit leading to wind buffeting, an intercooler hose which came off on the highway and left him broken down with the kids in the back, and then finally had its sensors decide all his tyres were flat, stranding itself on his driveway. The M2 has represented the single worst automotive experience I've ever had, and I've heard about a notable number of build quality issues with others outside of mine. It's interesting to see how a person's experience with them can drastically change based on the seeming flip of a coin. Again, glad you've not experienced this, as I would not wish it on anybody. Certainly not with BMW's complete apathy toward the situation. It's important that people also hear about the other, slightly less exciting side of owning these cars.

The shifter changes feelings after the break-in. I didn't like the CS's 1st to 2nd for the first 1k miles or so, but it feels locked in now. I may experiment with options later, but I like the stock feel at 6k miles.

Really good video, Chris is in his element and at his best. I’ve been pining for an M2 for a while now, I agree with others it’s comfortably the prettiest M car, it just looks right. I also absolutely love that green, and with the gold CS wheels they compliment each other perfectly. I’m now wondering though, why spend the money on a CS to daily drive when you could just upgrade the suspension on an M2 comp, like Chris has done here, fit an akrapovic and have it remapped to suit? Of course it won’t be as special. But for the money spent surely it can’t be that much less enjoyable on a British backroad? Great car, great vid. Need to convince the mrs to turn our g30 540i into an M2 now. Thanks for the upload.
