I'm a licensed Nail Tech but in the middle of a career change. I want so desperately to learn to tattoo but I always told myself that I wasn't a great pencil-to-paper artist.Last night, while watching this tutorial I was finally able to draw something that I was proud of for the first time in a long time. Thank you for giving me that.

I was a trash artist and i'm getting into it now after tons of practicing, videos, and tips from artists while getting tattoos you could definitely do it. just put the time in, its always possible

Take life drawing classes. Buy a light board and flip your drawings over and redrawn on new paper. You will see your errors and improve.
“You just want everything to be so perfect and then you ruin it” truer words have never been spoken. I feel that deep
Drawing freehand is infinitely more satisfying than templates. Every line is yours. These are great tutorials. Thanks.
I've watched this video about 40 times. I've drawn about 100 peonies. Thanks Chris
Like an old school rose, when you get the middle done right, the rest kind of just follow, love it.

I thought the exact same thing through this whole video! Drew a lot of old school roses some years back for friends and stuff and this reminded me so much of that 😂
I just followed this tutorial fast and loose like he said and it’s the best flower I’ve ever sketched. I want to be Chris’s apprentice🌸. By the way if you want good references of Chris’s work then buy his coloring books. Color Odyssey has a lot of different flowers in it 🌺🌹🌼
I love your confident lines and how easy your hand moves
I watched this 3 years ago and I’m in shock how much info I missed, just going to watch this every day like a ritual before I draw. So good 😊
I have never been able to make a Peony look even close to the one I just did following this tutorial. Thank you so much!
great video & explanation. Thanks alot ! especially the part “you try so hard to make it look perfect, that you ruin it.” hit me directly in the heart.. the advice to loosen it up is pure gold 🧡
I’ve always wanted to be able to draw like Chris, finally got back into it recently, not the same style but the inspiration is real watching another lefty work!
I watched this and literally it unlocked peonies in my brain... all of a sudden they’re super easy now! So so cool!!!
for many years following your work 💥 TOP ARTIST
Love seeing more left handed artist. Thank you for this content. Very insightful and informative.

Hell yeah! Garver rules!
Thanks a lot, I really do like how to learn to draw tattoo design and because of you it is starting to making that happen
I love peonies but really like camellia/tsubaki flowers. Mr Garver, always a pleasure to see your work xx
your style is awesome
My favourite flowers...Nice!
So beautiful!!
thanks for this tutorial. I like how you drew the peonies.
Thanks to these tutorials there’s a bunch of people drawing everything sideways😂 in all seriousness it’s really cool to see somebody who knows what they’re doing’s approach.
Amazing tutorial man. I’m actually in the early stages of my apprenticeship right now and tutorials like this are so helpful. Any chance on making a video on finger waves? And other Japanese material?
Thanks for making this tutorial. It’s my wife’s favorite flower and I’m sure she wants a tattoo of it.
Very helpful video for someone building a portfolio
Thank you sir for teaching
I hope you continue this series or maybe even do your own channel. This is super therapeutic for some reason
I love that you make changes as seen fit while inking it. A lot of times we focus on the lines themselves too much and it looks too…..flat.
Amazing video!!! Thanks so much!!!
Thanks Chris I love your drawings from the first episode of Miami Ink
I looove your style of peony
Fantastic video!
That's so pretty and much easier way of sketching a peony flower.. Thank you so much for sharing this video.. I have learned a technique from you Chris.. I can now draw or paint a peony.. ❤️

Thanks a lot Sir, I really surprise that i can draw peony pretty well...woow...subscribed already
beautiful
Hace mas de 15 años lo mire hacer esto en tv y fue mi primer motivación a dibujar, le tomaba fotos ala televisión a todo el proceso del tatuaje y despues los dibujaba 😂
1st sketch didn’t turn out so bad considering I’m use to fine drawing EVERYTHING. But I did this pretty quickly and simply enough. Wish they let me show it. My flipped peddles could use work. You make it look effortless💙
Loved him in Miami Ink along side with C.Nunéz , Darren Brass, Ami James, KvD and the late Yoji Harada

Thanks Chris! Peonies are quite frendly) I finnaly started to appreciate the A3 format. Seems to give much freedom than A4 to draw and scetch! Going to buy one)

what are you using to ink?
Super helpful! My biggest problem is being too slow when it comes to drawing something new.
WOW

I would lijke a pin Up japanice stile i remember you did one at Miami ink and iwas amazing
What are you drawing with?
Sunflowers please!
super
❤❤
Its a stamen, the 'ahem' male part of the flower..😊
i think in order to be less stiff, you need to build confidence. learning form and how shapes interact with each other can help with that
I'd like to see a tutorial of hibiscus flower

El usa el lapiz rojo , por que despues lo repinta con negro
@vaganciaeterna7169

El rojo seria la base, por si acaso hay que correguir , y cuando terminas con el rojo puedes repintar sin problema
