I loved this show. Just Bob Costas and a guest for 30 minutes. No studio audience. Just two people having a conversation. It was great. Chris Elliott (along with his father Bob), Dave Letterman, Martin Sheen, Julian Bond, Jesse Ventura, and Jim Brown are some that I recall. My God. How could I forget Marilu Henner? Damn.

Bob Costas has been on Gilbert Gottfried's Amazing Colossal Podcast twice. It's pretty special!

Bob Costas was one of the greatest interviewers ever! You'd think he was a meathead jock, but he'd ask artists some of the most beautiful questions and give them time to talk.

Costas is always intelligent and funny, one of the best interviewers. Only people who think all athletes and sportswriters and casters are dumb who could think that Costas is a meathead, even for a second... it says nothing about Costas and everything about the person that automatically thinks that Costas, being a sportcasters, must be a meathead.

This was great, but the appearance they reference at the beginning of the interview (with Bob Elliott) was even funnier. I hope we can see that one eventually.

The guy under the seats seems to be a riff on Bill Murrays appearance on the first Late Night in Feb '82. Murray at one point turns to Dave and starts threatening him saying "I swear Letterman if its the last thing I do, im going to spend every waking moment.,. making your life.. a living hell...." Now I think about it, I don't recall seeing Bill Murray on any other show but Dave's, ever.

Bob Costas didn't' know how to roll with the joke at the end. He's smart with his witticisms, needs to be the smartest in the room. but doesn't know how to make others look good I guess.

I think he played it exactly as planned. His failure to reciprocate Chris’ gift is the final joke of the interview. That leaves Chris exclaiming, “Bob? Bob?”
