I think it was born out of his brother in law wanting club mixes of his older stuff, instead he went the extra mile and did something out of his comfort zone. It's fine in my opinion, I think the songs themselves are actually really good and would be better with more conventional (though not entirely) instrumental tracks. He also did some awesome stuff with his vibrato on that album, the R&B focus took him to a great place as a singer. I honestly wanted him to explore more genres, he was untapped. You name it, I wanted him to sing it. As someone who generally prefers CC's live sound, I found his voice to be a little overproduced on Scream.."clean" if you will. Not so much a complaint really as a preference.

Lyrics~ Take a minute to tell you right And you can say what you want Turn around every night So now you're always going off Doesn't matter what I done Or if I even crossed the line Is that the hollar going for blood Girl, it doesn't have to be a fight Throwing out the blame when you know it ain't my fault Messing with my brain when you want to see me fall There may come a time when I don't bother you at all It isn't my call, it isn't my call Hey, why you keep screaming at the top of your head? I say hey why you keep screaming at the top of your head? I said hey why you keep screaming at the top of your head? I said hey why you keep screaming at the top of your head? There's no need to scream, baby I'm standing right in front of your face Why? Take a minute to tell you now and I don't have to raise my tone Take the level and bring it down I just want you to know I got no trouble with what you said I don't even think you're wrong It's how you say it You lose your head Girl, I'm standing right in front of you Throwing out the blame when you know it ain't my fault Messing with my brain when you want to see me fall There may come a time when I don't bother you at all It isn't my call, it isn't my call Hey, why you keep screaming at the top of your head? Silence is golden I used to think that silence was golden Silence is golden I used to think that silence was golden Silence is golden I used to think that silence was golden Silence is golden I used to think that silence was golden Hey, why you keep screaming at the top of your head? when he says 'there may come a time where I don't bother you at all, it isn't my call, it isn't my call" that part always gets me. Chris Cornell's music and voice were really unique. he clearly struggled with inner pain that no amount of singing or performing could cure. his death is so sad. no one has a voice like Chris. he was one of a kind. truly a great man, who lost his battle with depression. sometimes I get very sad. but the I listen to Chris Cornell and his voice inspires me to keep going. there are ways through the pain you feel. there are ways to feel okay again

You guessed it, John Podesta. John Podesta sexually assaulted both Chris Cornell and Chester Bennington way back when they was kids... Anyways John Podesta is the killer... It sucks because I hate that's how it went down, but I will stand on this until the day I die... How was Chris Cornell found in his Master Bathroom hung on his door with a green exercise band AAANNNDDD Chester found in the same room with the same weapon... Peculiar... I think not.

I disagree. He was a great writer as well. This song would have been an absolute smash hit if sung by the right person. His writing was top-tier. Just glad he did it himself and didn't care to share the wealth. Although I'm sure he wrote songs that he didn't think fit him well enough and I wish he had handed them off to other bands. Or maybe he did and I just don't know....?

If you ask me, this album was "panned" because people were used to his emo stuff. This was what he wanted to do. He was nearing his lowest point and he finally decided to do music that he wanted to do. People didn't like it because they wanted more stuff about dragging your soul across barbwire, and he didn't deliver. Fuck them. This is GREAT music.

Beautifully sung. Chris, Mr. Cornell, hawt man, you put your entire soul into your songs. I cannot believe you are really gone. I keep wishing the reality of this, the reality that you are gone, is only a bad dream. All along, in all your songs, you were telling us of your internal pain. Did your loved ones understand??? Did your loved ones understand the message? Does anyone NOW currently have a loved one trying to tell them something? Look around, LISTEN. Listen to the subtle messages a mother, brother, sister, father, friend or other....are they dropping subtle hints? "...If I'm around then..." These are the subtle warnings/ signs/ that something in their head, the visions, the imaginations (suicidal ideation) is taking over. What I told my son when he recently took his shotgun and ran off to the mountain is: "Choose LIFE. Always CHOOSE LIFE.When those imaginations, visions, etc. run through the mind, as they will.....choose the good ones. Choose the positive thoughts. KICK ALL NEGATIVE thoughts/ ideas/ imaginations OUT of the head/mind/body/soul. JUST choose LIFE. EVEN if life DOES NOT SEEM LIKE it is worth the living. ALWAYS choose life. Whatever is going on around you NOW, "this too shall pass!" "NOTHING lasts forever." The pain that seems unbearable, CAN and WILL pass. "After the STORM comes the RAINBOW." We are ALL part of that RAINBOW. No matter what race, color, religion, sexual orientation, country of origin, etc., WE ARE ALL WORTHY of SELF-LOVE. "SILENCE is GOLDEN." I can tell you RIGHT NOW, silence is INDEED GOLDEN." I think I can hear clearly NOW! I think I can. Indeed, I can. Wrap yourself in self-love. Embrace yourself and your loved ones around you! REACH out to your neighbor in NEED. LISTEN to their message...please, Please, PLEASE! And a few days later, I texted my son and I said, "I have NEVER once regretted CHOOSING LIFE, BECAUSE I AM SO PROUD OF THE MAN YOU HAVE BECOME Tylar!" Tylar MOE Music. He's a struggling musician....I see his potential. I only hope when he sings with his SOUL, that he will CHOOSE LIFE along the way! Thank you Chris for your beautiful message. You have left us all with very powerful words! What a talented man you were. I pray so often that your family, friends and thousands of fan will find PEACE!! Happy Friday the 13th! YEP, it's all about your personal perception. I choose to be "HAPPY" this day! and tomorrow....and on and on.....PEACE. OVER and OUT for NOW!!
