This is why I love the rock community. A dad brings out his daughter and they don’t screech, they give little shouts of encouragement when she hits her notes and they support her with cheers when she looks unsure. Then they stay quiet and let a dad and daughter have their moment. Fucking beautiful, thank ya Chris

Also worth noting is how good Chris is at sharing the spotlight in a duet. He can seamlessly go from leading with one of the most powerful rock voices of all time to complimenting his singing partner perfectly instead of overpowering them. He did it when he sung Crawling with Linkin Park, and he did it again here. Another reason why he's the best singer ever to live!

His death is a tragedy regardless of why or how. I've read how the family is disputing the preliminary report on his death, and his wife is concerned he took more of a medication he used for anxiety. These are depressants (Ativan), and especially if combined with alcohol (also a depressant), *and* a person has a history of depression or other mental health issues (which Cornell spoke openly about), a person may become suddenly very depressed... But this *isn't* confirmed yet, just based on his wife's statement, from what I gather. I wondered initially if it could have been a very unfortunate accident, but not because I can't believe he could have taken his own life. Sadly, people are shocked all the time by suicide... However, if not one single person around him saw the smallest of signs, it does give one pause. I'm sure the ongoing investigation will be looking into these very questions. Leaving behind loved ones is the most terrible part. Yes, fans will mourn his loss, some very deeply, but thinking of their family always gets me. Fame means nothing to your kids, I'm sure. They just want their daddy. That's why leaving those closest to you always seems so cruel, especially children, imho... whatever the cause of death. My thoughts are with his family.

Today marks the 14th anniversary of my father's death. He hung himself when I was 13. He was a great man, loved and respected by so many. Today for some reason, I've been listening to Chester and Chris and breaking into tears because I can only imagine what their daughters are going to be feeling 14 years from now. Still. It doesn't get better but we definitely get stronger and we grow to become better people for it. RIP dad, RIP Chester Bennington, RIP Chris Cornell and RIP to everyone who felt that the unknown was better than this world. And to the survivors who continue to take on each day despite the question: why?

@SouthVA 757 I will go to my grave believing he was killed. Having been a fan since the beginning I seen his ups and downs. His achievements and setbacks. The place he was at as far as life goes, to do with everything in his life, is where he had strived to be. His relationship with his bands, his wife, his children, his spirituality, was all where he needed them. Someone took this great iconic unique man from us. I HOPE THAT PERSON BURNS IN HELL FOREVER. R.I.P. Chris

I was at this concert, way in the back. This was the night that a guy in the front row kept asking Chris to play "Like Suicide." Chris was there for three nights I think. Chris told the guy, "I'm going to treat you like my kids, you've been asking me to play the song for three nights, if you ask one more time I'm not going to play the fucking song." He said all of this with a smile on his face, and "Like Suicide" was the last song he played for the set that night. I'll will forever remember the first and the last time I saw Chris Cornell.
