Director Rob Reiner told River to think about the most darkest time in his past where he felt hurt and betrayed the most so that it would draw tears.And it worked River did what he asked him to do and River was crying up a storm to make this crying scene.River was so upset afterwards that he couldn't continue the film till later. R.I.P River you were such a great actor,you're so missed.
