I met him last night after the Megadeth gig, he was the coolest guy ever and i was right infront of him in the crowd aswell he was awesome and had an incredible stage prescence. All the Megadeth guys i met yesterday were really cool. Never got to meet Dave tho

Chris Broderick is a beast, Did not disappoint in Endgame... I heard headcrusher and i was like damn... sounds like some of megadeth's older stuff IMO but still can't beat the classics...

Welcome to Megadeth!

He already is guitarist for Megadeth and is supposed to play live shows with them in February. He even turned down anything he might've had with Panzer or Nevermore so that he could stick with the big tour schedule Megadeth has planned.

I really do think that Chris is quite an excellent addition to Megadeth. I just saw Megadeth on Friday (the 25th) at the Palladium in Worcester, MA, & he did such a phenomenal job playing.

@NoAppend the album was already wrote when chris joined megadeth...Dave said so in an interview...he also said that no one has seen his writing abilities in megadeth yet.

He IS doing lessons now. I used to take lessons from him, and a close friend is taking them right now ATM.

All things aside though, I hope he has his fair share of input in the creative process. Megadeth has already built up a flat out legendary arsenal of tunes, and I'm really hoping that Chris gets the chance to put his vast array of musical knowledge to work with their new stuff...maybe make it more diverse? Meld multiple different styles together? I really wanna see where this goes haha

Cold84, I loved UA, and I think that every album I've heard from Megadeth has their own high points, but as much as I absolutely fucking loved UA and thought it and TSHF were a return to form, they need tighter solos and a better lead guitarist, this late in their career they've found this dude, and he looks to have the 'perfect' technique, he will be a fucking phenominal addition, I just hope Dave uses him well, fuck, we all know he will! Goodluck to Glen in whatever he does in the future! \m/

There is a god, me and my friends have debates on who is the best guitarists, and we pretty said it is either Broderick or Jeff Loomis, I cannot wait until they make a new album, this could be what Dave needed to be at the top of metal again-even though a lot of people loved UA.

Well, I didn't mean modern as in Shadows Fall. Anyway, Gary Holt of Exodus said that he never got along with their old vocalist Steve Zetro Souza, and that he didn't like his Bon Scott impression lol. Zetro didn't want to tour anymore either, so it's all a matter of moving forward. Lest we forget that Exodus has always done epic songs though. But I bet most wish that Rick Hunolt could get it together and come back and there I agree.

And you'd be surprised to his that there are a lot of videos of him on youtube playing classical pieces on a classical guitar.

Since he's been playing for so long, I imagine that he's not going to go completely nuts on the soloing, however Megadeth could use just a touch more of a modern style. People are split on Exodus with new members right now, but to me they sound more "modern" yet they haven't lost their sound.

i looked in the booklet that comes with the cd and it says at that solo... solo-mustaine solo-drover so it must be a mix of two solos that sound like one lol.

people keep saying that glen was shit and that chris is gonna bring megadeth a new rust in peace...first of all glen was a great addition to megadeth considering he wrote alot of the stuff with dave on their latest album and its been praised as one of their best and i'm sure chris ill bring alot to megadeth and may even influence their sound

Yeah, I took my first lesson with him right now. He pinpointed a lot of huge flaws in my playing technique easily, though I kinda sucked because the lesson started 20 minutes earlier than I thought, hahah. I wasn't warmed up or anything. He's a GREAT teacher though:)

um, yeah, 'cause he actually is TALENTED. he's the only reason i'll even listen to megadeth now.

as far as I know this guitar solo doesnt sound anything like Glen Drover, it sounds like a mustaine solo, also tone wise on the cd. And second his "bored look" is a Chris Broderick signature, he ALWAYS looks like that, sometimes he adds a smile but that's it. And as far as I can see he's digging it you can see his banging to the beat.

I seen them both playing last night, Both are phenomenal guitarists, Chris is definately better as far as technique goes, but Dave just has that attitude and feel to his playing that you just cant teach.

Yeah! I never really liked Megadeth as much after Marty Friedman left, he was an amazing guitarist and composer, making some of the most melodic solos ever! Personally, I think the solo of Tornado of Souls just cannot be matched.

i second that, jeff waters has some of the most badass sounding solos. Albiet they're very pentatonic sounding he does an amazing job with them. Though in all honesty Annihilator has started to go down hill with the past few albums. I really wish they had made Aaron Randal they're perminent vocalist

of course!. i cannot say what's bad or good. I just can say what I like and what I don't. But... well.... there's something about the first 4 albums that the other ones do not have. I know this is just an opinion, but the biggest part of the metallica fans think the same.

Are you saying that lessons rob the soul of a musician? Although being self taught works for some musicians, it fails for many more, and I can think of just as many, if not more, extremely influential musicians who have been extremely well educated in music theory.

Dave says that he sounds like Marty, not to say that he's better, but give him a chance! Matching licks with Jeff Loomis is not child's play, and every guitarist has a style that they want to show the world.

I love Friedman too but he's gone and Broderick is a tapping guitar god for sure. Nice guitarist choice i think.

im glad that Broderick is joining Megadeth i hope Dave does an album with the guy but for some reason i cant help but feel a little mad at Glen, i know he wants to focus on family life and whatnot but how often do you get a chance to join one of the biggest metal acts in history? I was just starting to like Glen. Anyway, Chris is amazing and hes definatly better then Friedman and Poland but im not so sure if his playing will fit with Daves music.

i love jag panzer and nevermore both of my favorite bands megadeth is goin to be an amazing experience for him and he will be more famous but i must say in my opinion i respect megadeth but is not my style of metal and Chris talent is at its best in a prog melodic power metal band in my point of view but i wish him the best.
