    Being dyslexic I learnt to spell the word because, because my teacher sang it to me just each letter I found chants with other words more confusing unfortunately but I’m sure it would work for others The little boy reading I would never of been able to read all of them at that speed even as a teenager sadly

  • @ChristineBlancehelpfordyslexia

    If you found chants more confusing when you were a child you are talking about the past and you wouldnt have been given my chants. My chants are unique to me. They are different from all other chants that children get in schools.. They begin wth the word that you are dealing with. In that way they are not confusng and hundreds can be remembered. I am considered a bit of a chant expert but I too would struggle witn ordinary chants. You have to remember what words they are spelling and they have got nothing to do with the worrds in question.. Mine tell you the word and also they are suggesting the meaning. Totally different to the old style

Recall, and speech is difficult so I'm not sure this method would work--especially with longer words (long sentences are difficult to recall accurately). I dont suppose there is one particular way to teach a dyslexic adult english as a second language. It really depends on the individual. I have used my method in this capacity and it worked really well. The person concerned went on to win some sort of national creative writing competition so that was really pleasing.

    I do all that as well in the phonic section of the teaching course. The mnemonics are completely different. The power of the mnemonic to be retained in the memory means that a large number of high frequency words and homophones can be learned and retained in a fun way before beginning the slightly more analytical methods of the phonic family of words. The two methods work side by side vey effectively

  • @christineblance3630

    @christineblance3630

    5 жыл бұрын

    Well you would first of all see if they have been learning them appropriately and with the right amount of out loud repetition and if they have and they still are unable to remember them then I would just assume that this method wasnt for that child. Or maybe they were too young and I would try at a later date.

    What I still don't understand or fathom is if that needs to be done for each word, isn't that's a lot of words? And do we just come up with any phrase to associate each word to help them remember?

  • @ChristineBlancehelpfordyslexia

    @ChristineBlancehelpfordyslexia

    4 жыл бұрын

    Well if there are a lot of words that your child cant spell each of these words would have to be studied separately and learned separately usually by a look, cover, write say method. This method rarely works for dyslexic children because it is not strong enough for the memory. When each word is given a chant and the chant starts with the word you are targetting the chant is multisensory, It is a story, it is a little rhyme, it has a picture that connects to the story, it is memorable because it is not just a random string of letters that has no meaning to the brain. The fact that the chant starts with the targetted word, once the chant has been memorised by saying it out loud many times whenever the brain then hears that word, out pops the chant. Believe me it works. I have used this method for over 25 years and most of my pupils can memorise hundreds. They can reside in the memory for years and therefore be called upon at any time to help them spell. If you are in any doubt use some of the examples on my video and try them on a child. They work like magic

  • @ChristineBlancehelpfordyslexia

    @ChristineBlancehelpfordyslexia

    4 жыл бұрын

    Sorry Natalie I have just seen this message now. 30 chants in seven days. It is certainly possible...that means averaging around 4 or 5 a day but it inevitably would depend on the types of words and your sons ability to remember them. It definitely can be done.

  • @ChristineBlancehelpfordyslexia

    @ChristineBlancehelpfordyslexia

    It depends on the ability of your son. If he easily can memorise a chant then learning 30 words in 7 days is entirely possible.

    Entirely depends on the ability of your child to easliy memorise chants. I would always start with 2 letter words, then 3 letter and so on buiding up to longer chants in stages.

    Firstly this is an instructional video. Not one of those quick sound bytes that seem to be so popular now so there have to be a "few words" in order to explain and instruct. As for your Einstein quote, neat as it is, it doesnt really apply in this case because I invented this system so if there is anyone on planet earth who knows intimately about this method it is me !
