@I'm not sure if forgetting a tragedy ever happened it's good, one needs to remember it, speak about it and see that people that have those impulses and thoughts never ever do them by geting the help they need. On the outside he was a grate wrestler loved by all, but on the inside he needed a lot of help because no one kills his family and then themselves if they are of sound mind. Helping the next person to not do that by talking about it it's better than just forgetting stuff like this happens. But that's my opinion.

  • 7 ай бұрын

@@reyvagabond3344 Have you even read the original comment I was replying to? The dude is praising his skills and how he should be remembered for that alone with no mention of the tragedy, he's doing exactly what you're afraid of. His story can be for many people in general. Not the murdering but just many of us fail in life. We never reach our potential. Many get hooked on drugs and booze young and never recover or try to and live a life of regret or what ifs. Many get babied growing up and never learn the value of working hard. Some come from broken homes. I have a friend who was hooked on drugs for years, in jail, Overdosed multiple times. All this stuff and now he's in his 40's clean, two kids, wife and great home. makes over 100k a year and runs his own business. He turned it around at like 38 years old. Fascinating and I never knew this. Also, when it comes to promos, I get what Coach is saying, but I always thought Benoit was lowkey underrated as a talker, more so as a babyface than as a Heel. As a babyface, you could feel the sincerity and the passion in his words about pro wrestling and his sacrifices and it was truly resonant. Go and watch his promo that he cut on Maven backstage before Maven challenged HHH for the World Title on the Raw after Survivor Series. Amazing stuff. I miss him so much everyday, even though in my heart I know two beautiful lives were lost because of him. It makes me so angry and sad, but I can never deny what Benoit meant to me as a kid.

@@echolalia682Exactly. And all of this is why I think Coach is 100% wrong with his notion that introverts can't make it, as well as his assessment of Benoit. Benoit was undeniably a main eventer whose quiet intensity--occasionally let free like those bursts mentioned--resonated because it was real and made perfect sense, unlike how many hundreds of cartoon characters Vincent Bloodmoney McMahon wasted everyone's time on for decades. Many, many wrestlers have insisted it wasn't the personality that held Benoit back--quite the opposite, as he was seen as a top guy and leader because nobody dedicated himself to wrestling as much, to the point of degrees of isolation in that dedication to craft. He was held back because dolts like that serial sexual assaulter wannabe dictator and plenty of old heads from the mid-century insisted "You must be this tall and this heavy to be the main event." We still see it with his latest Superm(Hog)an, Roman Reigns. It's why the Benoits, Eddie Guerrero, and how many others died tragically, chewed up and spit out.

Brock didn't do a lot of talking but spent most of his first 24 months in the company headlining everything he touched. And since coming back has continued to dominate as a main event talent. But Brock couldn't talk that well either, so they made sure he always had Paul Heyman. Benoit just needed a mouth piece. Cornette did a fantasy rebooking of the 2001 Invasion, and had Arn Anderson act as Benoit's mouth piece. I could easily see Chris enjoying Brock's same level of success if they had done that and had Arn do the talking while Benoit did the walking.

I think that's the general consensus with the people he worked with: before the tragedy, he was the last guy you'd think will do some petty stuff, much more something evil. Jericho summed it up perfectly: he was the first guy who you can leave your kids with because he already did! Such a shame.

It's probably really difficult to talk about Benoit if you had a personal relationship with him. On the one hand, you've got the awful thing he did. On the other hand, you've made many fond memories with him. It's must be so conflicting. Personally, as someone who had no such relationship with him, I like to separate the artist from the art. That way I can rightfully condemn what he did while still admiring his body of work.

There is no comparison between Chris Benoit and Tom Marvolo (Lord Voldemort) Riddle. Firstly Voldemort is a villain who wants to change the wizarding world into a supremacist of pure blood families, Christ Benoit on the other hand didn’t have any motives of tarnishing the reputation of WWE, he didn’t go to the FBI and maliciously make up stories to destroy the reputation of the McMahon family in the wrestling world or wrestling in general. He was a man consumed by his demons, and unfortunately it manifested in a brutal and deadly way.

What Benoit did was was awful, but the guy was Physically, mentally, and emotionally dead, and was just a walking husk. To say that he wanted to kill them, especially with what people said about his character outside of the ring, is just not right.
