Yep I pre ordered the pipboy, wish how ever they would release new versions of the 1/18 scale diecast cars. I missed out on all of them as I don't follow the Bethesda store and always heard about them after they were sold out.

So funny to hear so many people talking about Charlotte! I contacted The Wand Company a few weeks ago as I'm also building my own working Pip Boy and I was trying to get hold of some spare parts from the Model 2000 kit, Charlotte was *incredible* and went down to their stores, found the parts I needed and mailed them out to me the next day, small things like that leave such a huge impression. The moment I saw they announced the die-cast model and I knew it was a product of The Wand Company I ordered it immediately, every item I've bought from them has brought me so much joy.

This company is absolutely incredible for collectors. The care and detail that goes into every single product is unmatched, i really miss chronicle collectibles because they made affordable and good looking statues. But these guys just take whatever prop or thing they are making and turn the dial to 10, I’ve had the buildable Pitboy from Fallout 76 since it came out and still can’t get over how much care and detail went into it. Wish more companies cared this much about their products.

The random animations are like the notifications in the show. They will pop up to inform you something has happened, like getting approved for marriage.

My only question about the screen and the different features of the screens was whether I would be able to select a mode to make the screen not change automatically, or is it just something that can't be changed? It works like a normal pipboy with menus you select. The new thing that people are confused by is that there will be random notifications that are animated that will appear on the screen.

"They can't sell out, they haven't been made yet" Well when I first looked at the international gear store it just had a button saying "Notify me when available" and I missed the line that said they won't ship until November, so I thought they had already been made and sold out in the UK, but then I looked again the other day and I was able to pre-order it on the international site, so I did, and I cancelled my order on the US site (which was going to be shipped to my US forwarding address) so now the caps I save on shipping will go towards Lucy's backpack, which I didn't know they were making until I watched this video, but I have now registered my interest in.

Also, I laughed out loud several times during this video, but my favourite part was when Chris said "We'll make as many as there are fans who want them" that was a "YAAAAS!" moment for me, because as much as I love limited edition collectables, some things are so cool and have such mass appeal that I think it's mean to deny people the chance to own them, so thank you Chris.

Going back to the Belt that poke-balls are held on, Director Clavell in Pokemon Scarlet/Violet has attachments to his sport coat which his 6 poke balls hang from, you can find images of him wearing them online or in game, could be a work around!!! This is the only in-game reference I could find to a “belt” like attachment.

I preordered my pip boy! While I do wish I could have gotten the kit this feels like a much more affordable option compared to the almost 350+ prices that resellers are putting out. I can’t even find listing for the radio module anymore!

Did you watch the video? It has a fully functioning interface controlled by the knobs with a menu. It also has animated notifications that are delivered to inform you what is going on. It has a working fm radio that is lit as well as a lit Geiger counter that has a bouncing needle. The radio also has sounds from the show from the Fallout universe. The charger hidden in the cable on the back, like the interface key. It also has a clock mode and alarm.

Really interested in buying one! Few questions though: 1. Will the button on top make the whole screen light up (Like the 3000)? 2. It was stated that the vault-boy will be random, would there be some way to manually set it to the desired one? Otherwise you'd have to keep switching endlessly. 3. Will there be a full showcase on the store page of all features? I thought something like it was mentioned, but I forgot where it was. 4. What isn't on the website and what I'd think would contribute to the amount of orders would be dimensions? Like the full dimensions, but also for your arm (Something like diameter?)5. Could it be smart to have the battery charge indicator be the health bar? Anyway, great video!

Unsure what the button on top will do. The vaultboy animations that are random are messages or notifications from the shoe. The rest you will scroll through like in the game. Like the health bar idea. Or filling up the vault boy like in 4. I'll pass that on.

We will see if there will be long songs.

It would be neat if they had a phone app for the pipboy and make it like a watch, similar to the Apple Watch or the Samsung Galaxy Watch. Get google maps with an overlay for maps, treat it as a real functioning watch that doubles as a clock. I bet the fans would LOVE that. I won't be surprised if someone ends up finding a way to do it if it doesn't work out that way.

It was extremely frustrating at 1:55:16 when you asked him about the backlighting on the dials and then proceded to pepper him with additional questions before he could answer.. I just wanted to know if any of the dials are lit... and he almost answreed :(

He actually didn't have an answer then. He does now. We were trying to talk him into it. Now all the knobs work and the Geiger counter and radio are lit.

This one is smaller than the previous ones by thinkgeek though right? There's the shot when Chris puts on the pip-boy at 1:01:30 and it's very small compared to either the F76 or F4 pip-boy. Would say the F4 one is the biggest one too.

That would be amazing. I’m sure there’s a lot of things they want to do but can’t due to licensing issues. Having access to every radio station from all the games, for example.

It has a FM radio at this point. Works like the 2000 module did they released. Has interrupting be fallout universe.

What software/os is used on the pip-boy? Will we be able to make our own apps / modify it in anyway? Hopefully its more user friendly than the starfield watch lol, the watch should have really been touchscreen and wear os(or similar) I think they should make a new version as they mentioned, Fully operational as a modern day smart watch, but with the chronomark case/bezal. The price is perfect on this pip-boy, so far, for the features it seems to have. Hopefully more will be added in as people are requesting/hoping for(flashlight, connectivity, bluetooth communication/audio, fm radio tuner) its 2024, the technology is cheap enough now days, its possible...

It is proprietary. Not Android, arduino, etc. Remember, for some OS, like the watch, they are not free use.

Just read the description on this Pip-Boy and it can't connect to the phone like the Think Geek one did, so the older Pip-Boy still has more features. Sheesh I'm still gotta get this, just means I still have to work on my repair project.

This was an amazing video. I was watching how to make the Geiger counter, but I hope its ok to ask this. How much would it cost to buy geiger counter made by you guys? For my build your pipboy? You do a great job at explaining, its just getting the parts and having the skills to make it are two difftent things, I apologize if I am coming off as rude or annoying.

Look up Safecast. After Fukushima Dai-ichi, a group of citizen radiation war drivers/war hikers went out to measure radiation levels. They built their own Geiger counters with the ability to store geo located data points. Maybe it can get hacked into a PipBoy, maybe it has to connect to an external "bgeigy" unit. These guys were able to find out the truth post 3/11/2011. Left to their own devices, the Japanese government would have sat on the info.
