    Parallel keys. Who talks about parallel keys on their piano Channel? No one but you. Thanks. Now that I know about that concept/ theory that'll take me to the next level.

    Ok! Thank you, Kevin and team for this unicorn! 😍🤩There is nothing like it! I am so excited and amazed at the same time. I have searched and searched for something like it but no one has been able to explain it with such simplicity yet so comprehensively. Bravo! This is hands down the best video on cord progression and WHY and WHAT you even need them for. Filled in so many gaps for me! ❤ (me sits my coffee down, and runs to my piano, it’s time for practice!)

    Very nice! I learned to play organ. Still play it. Sometimes, I play piano, but I'm not a pianist. Very good information there. I play in a church and many times, I have to put my own chords, because some music sheets just have the melodie, and knowing this is very useful. Great video! 👍

    This is brilliant and I've never heard it said better. I'm ordering my keyboard today. For a songwriter who is not a keyboard player, we only have to learn this in the key of C and we can transpose it for other keys. That's amazing.

    I hear the melody I want in my head and play until I find it on the keyboard and wished all of this made sense for me but it is like another language. Somehow my fingers know where to go but when I try to name it as progressions if makes my mind fizzle in confusion. I will keep trying though. Thank you

    The theory is not quite truthful, very simplistic but I get the point. I mean just to prove my point, Eb major and C minor are not the same key. To be clear, they have the same key signature but aren’t the same key. The chords if you use the natural minor are the same but really you should use the harmonic minor because you are dealing with harmony which gives minor keys the different feel and sound that pop songs often fail to produce because they use the natural minor.

  • @PianoteOfficial

    @PianoteOfficial

    Ай бұрын

    While Cm and Eb are not the same key, the point of parallel chords is to achieve a sound that moves out of C major. Kevin simply explains if the minor diatonic formula is hard for beginners to learn they can achieve the same chords by thinking of Eb major. In this example it would not make sense to use the chords from C Harmonic Minor since the V - G major is already present in the key of C.

    What are diminished chords?

  • @Ruben_Van_Haute

    @Ruben_Van_Haute

    Ай бұрын

    It's a minor chord with a lowered 5th. For C you have: Major C E G Minor C Eb G Diminished C Eb GB The 7th diatonic chord in the major scale and the second in the minor are diminished chords. And to be complete, there is also an augmented chord which is the major with a raised 5th: C E G# But you will not find this as a diatonic chord in the major or regular minor scale.

    Geez! Dude, you just revolted the whole pop music industry. 99 per cent of pop singers now wonder if you weren't racist by saying "diminished" the remaining 1 per cent pretends that they know what you're talking about. You're lucky that you didn't mention augmented chords. They would have reported you for crypto advertising viagra.
