Chopping Corn Silage on a Dairy Farm l Harvest 2021

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

It's that time of year again, fall harvest is here! Watch us chop corn silage and put together our silage pile. We show the chopper at work as well as hauling loads, using the 3-point blade and backing the pile! The equipment used was the 7810 John Deere pulling the 1085 Gehl Chopper. On the pile we used the 7405 John Deere, the 1066 International, and 1650 Oliver. I hope you all enjoy the video, thank you for watching!

Sutton, Nebraska Dryland corn fair, maybe 80 bu. Irrigated 200 bu. Very dry and hot (95°) with high humidity. Bad storms early on with many pivots turned over. Some just now getting back up. I'm 75 still have cows and calves. Had Harvestors and chopped as you do with some of the same equipment. Have rented out my farm ground, high cash rents are the norm. Land prices through the roof. Lot of memories in your voidios.

At the barn there was a small chopper belt driven off of another tractor and the corn blew into a cart to feed the cows. Adolf will tell me 1,2,3,4,5 scoops to which cow. The corn was 9 to 10 feet do to the fertilizer and he had 200 chickens that ran loose in the cornfield. Gierok Farms Than You!
