Chopping a Hole in the '65 Continental Hood for the 7.3L Intake! - Godzilla Swapped Lincoln

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The 7.3L Godzilla swapped Lincoln Continental is getting some MAJOR cosmetic surgery this week. After we finish off our custom intake piping with all of our Vibrant Performance bends and clamps, it's time to figure out how to get it all to fit under the hood.
Well.... it's not.... Especially not with our Holley intake manifold. So instead of figuring out how to get it UNDER the hood, why not just find a way to get it to pop OUT of the hood? Right?!
So we're breaking out the angle grinder and getting to cutting up our 1965 Continental hood to get the perfect profile to hug the contours of our intake!
What do you think of our final piece of front end fabrication? Let us know in the comments! And make sure to like and subscribe to see what other crazy additions we're adding to this Godzilla powered Lincoln!

Nice fitment! 👍 If the owner is planning on taking it to car shows. You may want to consider adding a beauty panel on the inside of the hood to cover all the supports. That thing is massive and very visible when open. It would really make the entire inside of the engine compartment pop like a jewelry box. 👍

  • @SalvagetoSavage

That's a good idea! We'd probably have to do something light like a mesh to make sure the paneling on the inside doesn't start pulling down on the upper part of the hood it's supposed to be supporting!

I do think the straight section of the intake pipe would look sick if it was chopped up into pieces cuts and welded back together to have the continuity with the 90s down and over. Oh no!! Should have welded those supports to the existing bracing and bonded it to the hood skin using the foaming adhesive like what is done from the factory. Those welds are going to start ghosting through on the surface after some heat cycles from the engine.
