Nice video! I subscribed. What you’ve packed here, and how you have packed it, is fine and obviously works. But, there might be other ways to make it easier and the motorcycle handle better. I’ve camped and backpacked my whole life. I’ve traveled by motorcycle and camped about 28,000 miles in the US and Mexico in the last two years. I carry a lot less bulk and weight. What I always tell everyone planning for a trip is to remember that you are not leaving civilization. There is a gas station with a convenient store every 50 miles, and a Walmart every 150 miles. For example, I don’t carry extra propane. You can buy Coleman propane everywhere. Also, look for your camping equipment at a place like REI, where backpackers shop. My chair is about 1/3 the size and weight, and I carry a stove that weighs a few ounces, and a isobutane stove fuel canister that weighs 12 ounces and is about 1/3 the size, of the Coleman propane. That canister holds 8oz of fuel, and will last me about 2 weeks, but that depends on how much you cook vs how much you eat cold, or at cafes. You don’t need to cook the sandwich and the beer you picked up in the last town. I use my iPhone for all of my photography. I have a USB charger that plugs into the battery tender cable on my motorcycle that charges my phone. All my camera and charging equipment, in addition to the small tripod and phone mount I carry, weights less than 2 pounds. Also, stored on the phone is the full owners manual and service manual for the bike.

You guys are really loaded up. You travel like I do. With all that weight on the rear I can feel the shakey front end when you start off and when you slow way down. Bikers who don't pack like this have no idea what is going on here. KUDOS to you both!!!!!

I’m sure it’s been said, but make your life easier and pack a lot less. On motorcycles you boil things down to needs, not wants. Every single thing you do will be more enjoyable. I’m sure you won’t care to hear “I told you so”, so have fun. Remember you can always take the advice down the road and ditch gear as you go. Have fun and enjoy the trip!

Totally. And I've got around 15000 miles motocamping. Until you've gone without you will understand more is better. Always remember it's better to have and not need then to not have and need. I've been broke down, stranded, caught in the rain and cold. And every thing that goes has a purpose. Some are for comfort but 90% to live on the bike 24/7 for almost a month. Check out the traveling chopper on Instagram. You think I take alot. You ain't seen nothing yet. And he rides a rigid frame and 30 over ridged front end.

Not sure where ya live stony, but have you ever been in the middle of nowhere Texas? There are stretches where you simply will not see a gas station for a very long time. Much more than 75 miles. I don't know where these dudes were riding, or what the route was (honestly haven't finished the video yet) but riding a motorcycle for a long-term trip in Texas? I would not be without a gas can.

You are absolutely right. I rode through Texas many times back in the late 60' & 70". The roads were long and desolate. Always carried an old rusty beat up gas can. Painted it silver to cover up and stop the rust. It carried 1 1/2 gallons. never needed more. Just figured by now the roads were better and more stations were prevalent. I guess that's not the case. So I stand corrected. I am now 77 years old and not riding choppers anymore but did build a Jockey shift and foot clutch set of for my 02 road king. So my friend stay strong, Ride Hard & Live Brave!!!
