Hi! How are you guys? First of all, I am really sorry for the late uploading. As I said before, I received the piano from my friend. But I did not expect that all setup, including camera, LED, and programming, should be changed. I should have considered them. The setup has not been finished. More items should be delivered. In new videos, I will try to make better videos. Although it is late, I prepared a 500k congratulation performance with Chopin’s Ballade No.1. I started my channel about a year ago. When I started, I did not expect my channel would grow into such a big channel. The main reason that my channel was able to grow up quickly is simple. That is because you liked my music and supported me. After knowing that there are so many classical music lovers globally, I felt grateful for my job. I will remember you guys. Thank you very much. I will try to prepare lots of excellent performances. Please keep watching that my channel is growing up.

I'll start to learn this piece this week, and this will be my reference. Thank you Kassia! :) Edit I: 9 Dec, 2020: I can play until 2:25. Edit II: 17 Dec, 2020: Now at 2:34. Edit III: 25 Dec, 2020: Now at 2:58. Edit IV: 4 Jan, 2021: Now at 4:20. Edit V: 1 Mar, 2021: At 5:40. Edit VI: 5 May, 2021: Started coda, at 8:04. Edit VII: 3 Sep, 2021: Finalising the whole piece, smoothen all the arpeggios. I feel like I can't improve anymore so I paused any practice. Switching to Ballade No. 2 instead.

After starting my channel, lots of people want me to upload the performance with Chopin's Ballades. I think Ballade No.1 is the most popular among them. This piece shows both delicate and explosive emotions. I hope that you can feel them in this performance. Ballade No.1 is featured in several films. Some people may have heard this piece from the famous anime “Your lie in April” and movie “Pianist”. Personally, I like Ballade No.4. But, after preparing this piece for 500k video, I started to like Ballade No.1 more. Sheet music and steaming audios (Spotify, Apple Music) will be uploaded soon. Until now, I am busy because I am still looking for a house here. So the response to the messages and emails sent by a lot of people would be delayed. However, If possible, I will try not to turn a blind eye to your interest. Coronavirus started getting worse. Be careful! I hope that you and your family keep safe and healthy. Have a great day! Thank you.

I always listened to ballade 1. But as time went by I found out about other ballades and I started listening to no 4 more. I guess those with experience would like no 4 more, the most complicated of all 4 Ballades (especially the confusing coda which usually sounds messy at first listen). But I guess it really depends on my mood. After listening to Chopin Ballades you might want to try listening to his barcarolle op 60

this is one of the best pieces chopin ever composed. he was such a freaking genius. those harmonies, the bass and the melodie, the reacuring themes and those intersections and certain passages and runs. it's just one perfectly composed piece. i get goosebumps when I listen to this piece. it's just truely magnicifant. Kassia is such a great pianist and plays this piece so perfect. hats off. i love it.

@Gizio the Jackal I've been listening to all kinds of music for 10-14 hours a day for the last ~10 years, and I'm also a composer and wanna-be producer, and imo today's talented classical composers are all wasted on film scores. I love them, but none of them know how to hold up a melody. From what I see, today's classical composers are stuck up in their theory and harmony. They know how to put up some interesting chords together, but not to build an actual story and melody that stands by itself. Not to say I don't see any exceptions. On the other hand today's performers are off the charts... I think Kassia and Roussou are exceptional as well

Absolutely beautiful. I like the slower tempo for the beginning parts. It adds a little calmness and variety, as well as a little more buildup-for a chaotic, swift and colorful ending, in which (and all the other fast parts) your style really shows. You’re pretty good at showcasing all of the intense emotions of despair, happiness, sadness, etc. This would definitely be one of my favourite interpretations of this piece. Bravo Kassia (and happy 500k!)! I am very much looking forward to all of the pieces you will be playing in the future (especially the Ballades and other pieces by romantic composers)! This masterwork is so famous nowadays, that most of us just listen to it thinking it is just a beautiful musical composition, and forget that in classical music, we cannot know for certain what composers felt with music, thus, we need to create personal interpretations, and I would love to share mine, and I hope I can change the way you see this piece. Also, I am going to mark To me, this ballade tells a story of love. In the beginning, I can see a lost young man, a teenager all he wants is life to make sense, he finds himself alone and forsaken, this can be heard by the way the piece constantly tries to find the right key. then, he sees a girl, a beautiful girl that is in the same school as him, he can feel his heart getting warmer and heavier as he thinks of her, suddenly, he starts to realize that he had fallen in love with her, but he was to shy to talk, so he just dreams (0:36). As he saw her everyday, and dreamed of her, he realized that to be united with her, he had to be courageful and talk to her, he decided to do so (1:26). He is glad to know that she talked back to him, and they conversated for some time (1:51). Then, as happiness appeared great, so did his fear. Suddenly, he is overcome by his thoughts, “what if she doesn’t really like you?”, “what if she already has a beloved”, these questions really start tormenting him (2:12). But as he talked to her again the next day, the tempest disappeared, he felt good and calm again, full of love (2:51) They start going on walks together, and talking every day long, it was very good, it was great to feel the emotion of love, he starts to wonder about their relation and every good moment they had (3:35). But, he is then reminded that they are just friends, and in order to push their relationship further, he had to do something, he had to ask her to be her girlfriend. He starts to get nervous, he doesn’t want to do it, what if it goes wrong? (4:19). He tries to overcome his fear, and decides to take action. On a grey Monday morning, he meets with her, and tells her everything he feels. Every second is extremely hard, all he can feel is nervousness, stress, and fear, his hands get cold, as he talks to her (4:42). But then, what the answer he hears to his proposal is a resounding ‘yes’. He explodes from joy, he couldn’t be happier. His great beloved was now his girlfriend, he can imagine all the moments they didn’t even have in the future, everything was bright, the grey clouds had gone away (4:50). In autumn, they go to have beautiful dances among the red leaves and grey trees, all they could want was real (5:41). He realizes how happy he is, every moment, every memory, is completely beautiful and emotional, he is so happy to know that he and he will spend their whole lives together, joy sings higher and higher (6:16). However, one day, as he got to the clearing in which they always met each other during the winter, the snow covered everything, all the trees were looking sad, and the birds no longer sung, the warm sun was being covered by a sheet of dark clouds; he felt that something was wrong, however, he awaited her, but nothing happened; she didn’t appear. He then started getting worried and nervous, but he would not perish, he stayed there, waiting for him, they were planning on having a beautiful dance on the snow covered landscape. After some time waiting, she appeared. He was relieved, but noticed that she did not look joyful or excited, her face was full of despair and sadness. She explained to him that her family was moving to a far away country, and that they would not be able to see each other. with shivering hands and a tear falling from her eye, she announces that they would have to end their short but beautiful relationship (7:11). He unfortunately has to accept this depressing truth, and kisses her in farewell. He spent the rest of the afternoon alone on the now white clearing; even remembering their greatest moments together couldn’t take the deep anxiety and depression out of his soul (7:25). As he comes back home, he doesn’t feel anything but a terrible indescribable feeling deep in his soul; even the most beautiful memories couldn’t make him feel better. He goes to his piano, he looks at the keyboard, and decides to release his emotions onto it, on a form of music (7:48). He throws all his wrath in it, and what can be heard is a terrifyingly beautiful dance-like music, a graceful torrent of notes made out of pure emotion and anger; this was him, dancing all alone to a piece of music, now distorted by his feelings (7:56). With all his emotion, he concludes the piece (9:08). And thus, ends the tragic story of this young couple.

Awesome post! When I saw your post, I knew I had to save this video to "Watch Later", because I knew I had to wait until I had time all alone to read it carefully, while listening to the music, and seeing the images in my mind that your words and the music create together. Thank you 😊❤️. There's a rumor that Chopin was inspired by the poetry of Adam Mickiewicz to write the Ballades. Correct me of I'm wrong, but I think the Ballades were the only times that Chopin endeavored to tell specific stories by his music. Your story fits perfectly 😮

Woah!! This just blew my mind! This is legit the most impressive thing I’ve seen! I’m so inspired man I wanna take up the piano again and be as good as you one day! Keep it up I love your videos. It’s crazy how beautiful yet insanely technical professional pianists are when playing.

I just love to hear this using my earphones the sound is so clear. Sometimes i just listen to this until i fall asleep. Its also thrilling when the sounds keeps getting louder and louder and the rhythm keeps getting faster and faster. I also love the richness that comes from those deep notes. :>

I have got to say, this was one of the few pieces I actually enjoyed learning and playing it. It was hard at first (it still is but different) but then I found the actual love that was put in it and how fun it is to actually play it with jumpings scaling and everything I have learned. Still love to play this to this day

Kassia's videos are for me not only enjoyable to listen, but also educative. I learn by observing the fingering, getting an inside into the playing of the composition.

6 years before, a boy named arima kousei played this piece at this day. On the same day, a girl named miyazono kaori died from a operation. That scene will be remembered by us weebs, and the piece will be remembered by us classical musicians... RIP kaori😭🎼🎻
