Another great video, thank you! Although no longer relevant for me, however, maybe someone can learn from my experience. When I looked for my PhD supervisor, I contacted people in their lab to ask what kind of supervisor they are. People got scared that this was some kind of secret agenda and not a genuine potential candidate (I know, because they told me later when we worked together), so they weren't honest. I suggest asking PAST candidates that worked with this supervisor.

Thanks, Franja! Yes, I think this is a good idea. It's definitely tricky to get good answers on how someone is as a supervisor. - It needs work.

Thanks for watching. So, if you know your topic go online and find out which professors in Germany do work in this area and then take it from there. You might start with technical universities, like TU Berlin, RWTH Aachen, TU München, TU Dresden, or other universities with an engineering department. Good luck!

Thanks for the wonderful video professor. You mostly talked about established labs. What about a new lab where the prof is just started recruiting students?

Thanks for watching! -- Good point - and perhaps the topic of a future video! :) There are certainly advantages and disadvantages of starting a PhD with a new PI.
