Thank you so much for this knowledge. Just wanted to ask- the Rhesus issue is properly understood. The ABO, you only talked about the Blood Group O and not the others. Does that mean that the ABs are compatible with anyone?

Yes, because AB is a universal recipient so if the baby exchanged blood with hers, she would receive it well , and not attack it.

My name is Sophia, am blood group O minus. Q. I only received 2 doses instead of 3 of AntD, the first at 27 weeks and the last immediately after delivery won't I be affected on my second babyor pregnancy?

If the mother is minus, at what stage does she take the anti-D and how do u know if the baby is minus or +ve?

As soon as she is pregnant she needs to be under care by her gynaecologist to guide the process. They are a total of 3 injections. 2 during the pregnancy, 1 after

Depends on the decision you both make. Then get to hospital as soon as she is pregnant so you get care

Hey Dr me am B- was given anti d at 7months on birth I wasn’t given bkoz they found my baby with the same blood group …though I don’t know my partners blood group…Do children have any of the parents blood group or they take up for their fathers?

So the baby most likely got the fathers blood group. Just find that out. That’s most likely why it was different from yours

@@ainomugishadaphine6416 hey sorry I hadn’t gotten you. So, if your blood group is same as that of your baby. There is no need to get the injection. But you can’t know that when the baby is still inside your womb. Hence why every women man with a Rh- , must be given the injection . Unless the father is also Rh- .. but if the father’s is positive or not known, the injection is given. If baby is also Rh - like the mom, then no need to get the injection of after delivery

The Rhesus factor may give you difficulty but you can be helped in hospital
