    I never herd anything good about Turbolito tubes I use schwalbe one tires with standard tubes and your bike may be lighter than mine but i will have less rolling resistance i think and can repair a tire puncture faster than using a turbolito tube

    I haven't had any real problems so far with the Tubolito tubes compared with regular tubes. I like the fact that I can carry two and they weigh less than one standard tube. They are pricey though.

    Happened to me too, lesson learned the continental wired only works with standard rim, in other hand the tubolito must have good hi tension rim tape. I loose 2 tubolito just for the rim tape matter. Sucks 😢

    I use my two Bromptons for everyday use and for traveling. I am satisfied with the Schwalbe Marathon with the green puncture guard and an ordinary inner tube. Only one flat tire since april 2018 with the Schwalbe Marathon Racer on my green Brompton. The Racer is in my opinion not so durable as the normal Schwalbe tire. Last one is also cheaper $.

    Nice I have to ride on bad roads with alot of bumps and glass. I was getting a flat every few weeks so I switched to the Tannus Tires. Then I decided to try the Continental Urbans since many viewers kept recommending them and they have been great. No flats so far!

    If you are using Brommieplus R001 rims, it is incompatible with Continental Contact Urban tires. Their websites also stated this. I personally tried it and the tires cannot sit properly in the rims. Asked the supplier and they stated that the R001 is slightly bigger 16" inch rim to facilitate easy installation of tires. I swapped to R010 wheelset and have no issues with non folding type.

    I've been OK with my BrommiePlus R010 wheelset with the combination you have described. However, I run my Conti non-folding tire/ Tubolito combo at 85PSI. I've never exceeded 90 PSI, ever.

  • @BromptonFamilyTime

    @BromptonFamilyTime

    I check my tire pressure every Monday morning and it is usually around 90 PSI. So I inflate them back to 100 PSI weekly. So far no problems. I use to run my tires at 85 PSI in Japan but I got worried it would drop too low if I forget to inflat them so I stick with 100 PSI.

    @@BromptonFamilyTime As per the replies in this video, the R001 rims are not compatible as stated by BrommiePlus. R010 rims is compatible, and the most popular.

    I'm using carbonician trispoke carbon wheels, and I've used the schwalbe ones + tubolito combo before. while the schwalbe one is light and low on rolling resistance, they are more susceptible to punctures. the tubolitos don't hold their psi for long compared to schwalbe and I have had many leaky tubes. Since then I've swapped to conti contact urban + schwalbe tubes and they've been reliable since day one

    Hello, the Tubolito tube is more puncture-resistant, but allegedly worse copes with heating. With rim brakes, the rim heats up very much on downhill rides, where you often use the brake. Have you used the brake much when your Tubolito tube burst?

    I think messing about with non-Brompton parts is this guy's main problem. So much of the fabric of his bikes is not in any way "Brompton" anymore, it is no wonder things go wrong... I suppose we should thank him for doing all the experimenting, and finding out what works, and what (comprensively) DOESN'T, but it certainly is costing him a lot of wasted money. F'rinstance,Tubolito tubes are not at all reliable, and you can get four proper tubes for the cost of just one Tubolito. And how about all those part-worn tyres being junked?

    Stock Bromptons part are the best in terms of quality and durability. I am not sure what percent of the the Brompton owners change parts, but I would say it is a small group including me.
