It would be nice to also have a comparison among three WW boats -- play, river, creek -- and two sea kayaks -- touring and surfski.

Are the carbon fibre boats easily damaged/scratches by stones?. Been paddling an Axiom and looking to upgrade to an IC boat, just need to know the implications of moving to a carbon machine.

@@Andrew.Stuart do you know how the longer IC boats are for rolling? Compared to a bullit or shorter HP boat for example

@@sbaldwin21 Shouldn't be any different at a guess. Usually a surf boat beacuse of the flat bottom are a little more harder to roll but Ive found no difference when rolling longer sea kayaks. Ive had issues when the seat height is raised (to create forward drive)in shorter surf kayaks (like the keel of a yacht. All comes down to practice at the end of the day and nothing prepares you for a good smashing in the surf lol!

@@sbaldwin21 Hi Sam! That IC boat is a Surf Screamer. It is a River Screamer with the sides sliced off! Only available on special order from Neil or Jock in Edinburgh. 🙂 It's very easy to roll. If I'm being bundled upside down in surf, sometimes I extend my arms away from the boat at right angles to the deck. (There's no "up" or "Down"). Just do that and the boat rolls itself. If you wait for a quiet roll, you'll run out of breath.

@@MrDHCuthill Since I made that comment a year ago I got a Mk 18 surf screamer - but it’s on loan as my ass and thighs is currently too big😂. It rolls like a river boat, so easy. I do have 3 river screamers too - occassionally paddle with Jock and Neil but not usually off mid week when they go. Have a fusion with twin fin option coming shortly. Love the IC boats compared to my plastic slicey boats. Haven’t really got on with a few brief goes in an HP though (Vulcan) due to lack of skills
