I loved this video, but you are giving people WAY TOO MUCH credit. In my experience, people don't want us to have kids because they want us to experience unconditional love and the "beauty" of motherhood. Human beings are NOT that altruistic. Sorry, but it's true. Society wants EVERY woman to be a mother to control us and keep us in servitude. Then the trick us to convince us that it is so fulfilling despite the ugly reality.

Never wanted children, never had children, never regretted. I lived through the social dogma and pressures. I held my own. I know and knew that I am not a father. believe it takes a true caring mature adult to know who you are and not pretend, which ultimately leads to failure. I'd rather be childless than a bad father. If you want children, good for you, go for it. But please do not belittle us who do not.

Hello Helena, Thankyou for sharing this video! I totally understand why you don't want children . I never wanted children ,but I accidentally got pregnant with my beautiful son . Having children sometimes is joyful and sad times when they get sick. Some children get really sick ,my son got sick at 26 mths old with meningitis, and he nearly die . It's was the worse time of mine and my husband's life. He pulled though ,but left him with a disability from his illness ,I have been his carer for 32 yrs and my husband and I just love him so much . My husband has just lately found out he has sage 3 small cell lung cancer ,it's a fast moving cancer ! He's having chemo and Radiotherapy to treat his cancer hopefully to give him more time. Without treatment on wks to live. We have been married for 42 yrs in Dec . So I say Helena live you life to what you want to enjoy life with your beautiful husband ,and your solo travelling. Good on you ,and do takecare ,see you in you next video 🤗🥰🌟

Hello You often mention the sacrifices that women make when deciding to have children (expected and UNEXPECTED :)) and this is OH SO TRUE! I have grown children and being tired and challenged and not hearing yourself think at times is definitely part of the journey. But ooooooh the expected and unexpected rewards. I also agree that you should not have children for anybody else but you, and shame on those who shame and guilt women for not wanting kids, whatever the reason, it is awful. However, you do not talk about what is given up when choosing not to have kids (your own or adoption) i.e. the journey of pregnancy and child birth (when possible), the relationship with raising a human being, seeing them grow and evolve and go out in the world and thrive. These are also sacrifices. Life is all about choices and whatever they are we learn and grow. Be who you want to be!

It's never wise to force our opinions on anyone on any subject, unless what that person is embarking on can be literally dangerous to themselves or others, and even then, sometimes it's based on our idea of danger. I would go further to say that you should honour who you are at each stage of life....if you force yourself to have a child when it's not your desire, you risk PPD by a hundred-fold. Are these opinionated people going to help take care of your child when you are not mentally prepared to care for them?? And people can always change their mind somewhere down the line, living in today is what counts. I had an aunt who lived 80 years, never married, never had children. She was a teacher, that was her calling. She died fulfilled and without regret. That's all that matters. Life without regret.

I really do not like the comments that are saying that this is a movement, can women not decide WHAT THEY WANT? F$k sake? This women, anyone women has the right to choose what they want with their life, women as a species are not supposed to collectively decide for individualistic choices of each women. These are the same people that get mad when a women has a baby and never wanted them, then the child has trauma? Y’all will say then why have kids? Women can’t win for sh$t. Let this women live in peace. Let anyone pick their choices, that’s why everyone is in therapy. Choose bear. Listen to yourself and honor your innner voice.

At my age I'm happy to have my Cat as in Crazy Cat Lady.. I love my life and have many Social Connections including Dancing, Swimming, Beach Strolling and many hobbies. I appreciate your honesty. It is true that childfree life is more comfortable, peaceful and serene. However, it is also lacking one dimension of love. I can totally understand if someone chooses purely spiritual life instead. I feel deeply sorry for every human being too ill to have children or to generally follow the deepest passion of their heart. I confess I have difficulty understanding healthy young people seeing only their own interests and convenience.

When making a decision in your 20s, one can’t possibly foresee the loneliness hopelessness and desperation I see in my friends in their 50s who share their anguish with me having chosen this route. They bought into the lie of freedom and self actualisation and instead have a life that is self absorbed and fundamentally purposeless when the appeal of not having children wears off. One never fully grows up until one is responsible for a child. The outpouring of love that is instinctual as a woman cannot be redirected elsewhere with the same profound impact. The relationship with a child is ever changing and enriching. It’s has been a blessing and a precious gift.
