Chomsky: Arrest of Assange Is “Scandalous” and Highlights Shocking Extraterritorial Reach of U.S.

Attorneys for WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange are vowing to fight his possible extradition to the United States following his arrest in London, when British police forcibly removed Assange from the Ecuadorean Embassy, where he had taken asylum for almost seven years. On Thursday night, Democracy Now!'s Amy Goodman spoke to Noam Chomsky about Assange's arrest, WikiLeaks and American power.

Don’t forget Australia. Our government is also cooperating in their silence.

"Who would benefit?" is probably the most important question to ask yourself when trying to figure out anything.

A martyr is someone who suffers persecution for a good cause. The world is watching and the enlightened youth see Assange as a truth teller. The US will persecute and as a result Assange will inspire others as the first cyber Martyr of truth. You have already won Julian no matter what they do to you. Thank you Mr Assange for your service as an investigative journalist, we hope and pray your suffering will end soon.
