Trungpa Rinpoche appointed a successor, Osel Tendzin (Wikipedia) who had “contracted HIV and for nearly three years knew it, yet continued to have unprotected sex with his students without informing them. He transmitted it to a student who later died of AIDS. Others close to Tendzin, including Vajradhatu's board of directors, knew for two years that Tendzin was HIV-positive and sexually active but kept silent. “ (Wikipedia) Tendzin also raped a male student. All this Tendzin claimed to have done in the name of Trungpa. Were Trungpa an enlightened Buddha/Guru he would have known better than to appoint Tendzin, a murderer, sexual predator and rapist, as successor. Nevertheless it would be a mistake to conflate the holy Vajrayana Buddhadharma with imposters like Trungpa and Osel Tendzin, for to meet and establish a relationship with an authentic enlightened Bodhisatva is simply a vanishingly rare occurrence, particularly now that virtually all the truly enlightened Lamas who emerged from Tibet and came to the West between 1964 and 1989 have vanished into Parinirvana.

Look within yourself and ask what this narrative you decided to post here has to do with any word uttered in this teaching. Teachings are judged on their own merits. There is no such a thing as "perfect" human from the perspective of anyones imposed ideals. There is no perfect Mahasidda from the perpective of the worldly. Few have accomplished as much as Trungpa Rinpoche in helping spread the dharma and benefitting millions with his wisdom. Whether anyone agrees with everything he or any other living being has ever done is not of relevance here.

That's a much too simplistic view of who he was, and what he did during his relatively short life. Let's say he was an alcoholic. Now let's examine our own attitudes about how we feel about alcoholics. Another practice we could do to help us put into perspective the significance his consumption of alcohol might have had on his life is to research the number of books,, poems, works of art and so that he t

a continuation. ... that he created during 17 years. Everyone of those creations is cherished world wide by thousands of living people. Those works include a clear, accessible, totally pertinent way for we human beings to do a good job of caring for ourselves, and all other sentient beings. The alcohol use pales in significance when we begin to examine his immense contributions to the welfare of all sentient beings of past, present and future. May all beings be joyful. John Godwin

So what even if he died??? Dying is natural. Everyone in this world who takes birth is for dying. Dying is just a natural event, what people take it so hardcore. Even drinking alcohol is just a natural thing because mankind discovered it. Until you find the truth of entire existential, you will feel delusion and materialistic suffering (byproduct).

He lost all the theoretical spiritual insight and gave his life to addiction. A great contradiction. and a great contradiction denies the whole doctrine if anybody was enlightened.

How do you know he did. Do you know the path? Do you know all the ways to follow the path? It doesn't matter to Rinpoche whether you accept his teachings or not. It affects only you, whether you can afford to lose an precious explanation of the path out of suffering for all beings because of closing your mind. Perhaps you can follow a different teacher.

You try speaking in a second language about a highly complex, highly profound philosophical perspective, be entire lucid and eloquent, while supposedly "wasted". He drank, of course, but according to his close students (one of whom I studied with), he didn't drink to get wasted. That wasnt point of it. People that drink to get wasted want to get rid of something from consciousness (sadness, misery, boredom, anger etc), he drank to highten consciousness while suffering chronic pain.
