Is really fantastic!!!! 40 years later and all the power and magic of this incredible band is still intact, even stronger in my opinion ( just watch sweet young thing live at the fillmore ). And Dave Aguilar sings it like in the past ,like time just dont pass!!! One of the greatest band on planet earth!!

The Chocolate Watchband's version of Baby Blue is my all time favourite, from the first droning feedback pulse to the beautiful 12 string tinkling chimes high up on the fretboard all through the power and drive of Dave's masterful vocals, to the gentle closing notes.

This is incredible!!! I mean the sound is like the original recordings is really fantastic! I've seen the Chocolate Watchband in Rome year 2000 and it seems the sound was a little bit "heavy" compared to this video.Of course was memorable experience. One of the beautiful song ever recorded.

You can still see glimpses of the power Dave had when he was 19, singing this song.

The tone coming off that Rickenbacker is gorgeous. I'd like to know if he's using a bit of chorus pedal or some such.

I was there , too , and this song was a highlight , so was "I'm Not Like Everybody Else"...A bit of Dave's affinity for Johnny Rotten made it's way out....

Another cover of Dylans classic was done by the band - Them (inc. Van Morrison), it sounds exactly the same as Choc Watchbands version, either way Dylan covers are awesome 90% of the time check Everly Brothers Abandoned love

Is this the classic CWB line-up (Gary, Dave, Sean, Bill, and Mark)? Dave sounds great, and the rest of the band are no slouches either!

Everybody has done this song. For my money these guys and Van Morrison's version is tops. Yeah, that includes Dylan's as far as I'm concerned.

So, this isn't the original singer on the record, right? It's Aguilar, but Danny Phay was the original singer, right, who sang on the records?

  • @carnack53

No, Phay only sang on the last album (Don't need no doctor, etc). Dave Aguilar sang on the first few albums, on all their most well-known stuff. That's him on Sweet Young Thing, Love-in, and check him out leading the band on that old film clip of Sitting There Standing.
