Kinki products have always been way above their $ point. No doubt about that. Never heard the gear to know if it lives up to how good it looks and the build, but reviews are always good.

Got a very nice response from Ken Ng. General Manager. The dampening factor or DF is 430 ish. The toroidal transformer is very high quality OEM.

Would this be a good pairing with a pair of buchardt s400 mk ii's 4ohm speakers?

I have a question about the speaker binding posts. In this review and on the Kinki Studio website I see that the speaking binding posts are solid red and solid black however, watching other reviews of the EMEI on KZread, I noticed that the speaker binding posts are a different style clear plastic over gold speaker binding posts this makes me wonder and uncertain. Is this review sample an exact representation of the EMEI or not? If the components do not match exactly what is shown here I'll think the other reviewers have a clone knock-off

It has some minor changes on the back panel , the distance between the binding post and XLR/RCA input will be slightly wider , this is to avoid cross negative and positive speaker cables for spade connector user

Toroidal transformer is definitely enough. What make are the capacitors… you only say hi quality. If this unit checks out well? I am a fan. I worry about sounding thin. It reviews well.

Question. What’s the difference between EMEI and EX-M1+ in terms of sound performance?

EX-M1+ is superior obviously - but if you are going to notice that difference depends on the loudspeakers and source gear. I am not sure if the sound is different by design. The Kinky EX line and Vision line (i have both) sound differently - not sure where the Choko line sits compared to that.

Being modular, would that mean if there is an upgrade, it can be easily swapped out and install the upgraded component?

it is more for repair - these things are build to last and easy to maintain. I don't think that Kinki so far has ever made any component upgrades, but if they for some reason ever decide to do that in the future, yes, I guess that swapping would be easy.

It needs more inputs

My input would be to make it available in black as the “gun metal” color looks green and would look out of place in an all black system. Silver looks great but my setup is black.

isnt 400VA transformer for 2x130 W small?? Personaly I never get the sound weight and authority one listening amps with small transformers. Eg musical fidelity m3si to me sounds simply bed. Roksan atessa, Naim provides 400 VA for 2 x 70 , 2 x 60 respectively.

Pass Labs have beefy torodials, as does Coda and Gryphon. But these brands cost serious cash. 400va for this price range is exceptional. Like you said, Naim (Supernait 3) has a 400va toroidal, but that cost triple the cost.

I have a Keces E40, very small footprint, 50/65 watts at 8/4 ohms respectively, and in the right setup, sounds great at an affordable price. 180 watt transformer. Had the M2si and the difference in performance is significant for me. I would hope this CHoco is a serious step up in SQ should I need a more powerful amp down the road that still has a relatively small footprint. Don't want heavy amps anymore nor peakers that need those to perform well.

It would be marvellous if it includes phono and headphone amps.

Why are the transformers and other components installed upside down? Ideally, these are fixed onto the bottom chassis...Not here though! Any particular reason? It's strange one needs to open the bottom cover instead of the top one to see the inside.

They use the thick aluminium case for cooling, see the bottom card, no cooling fins, the Mos-Fet transistors produce very little heat. Very smart design same as the Kinky amp's.

Huge miss on the looks but probably sounds great
