She missed her window in pop I fear. She abandoned the pop trap thing way too soon. She let black twitter and blog comments calling her singles ‘Empire’ music get to her head which caused her team to pivot and release In Pieces, which while not as bad as some say, is as generic R&B as it gets. But predictably the audience critiquing her pop music didn’t even support anyway. Boy Bye is a pivot back to the pop space but even with the video and Coachella performances, it performed even worse than FYS and her other tracks in streams which shows the pop crowd has completely checked out on her too. There is no audience or great demand for Chloe anymore beyond her core CxH fans and it’s sad. Personally, I would put her solo career on the shelf for now and tell her to focus on her acting projects and the new CxH album. Based on her recent streams, the new album won’t even do In Pieces numbers and that would be back breaking for any chance she has at turning her solo career around.

i agree with so much of what you said.. she abandoned an audience thinking her next demographic was going to support her. it’s sad honestly and I hope she can pick up the pieces but i don’t know if she can honestly, the switch up on ever the chloexHalle sound was crazy as well!

I disagree with the Pop trap thing imo, I felt like that sound was going to die quick for Chloe, because we came out a whole decade of stuff like that. I truly think the sound that she had with Halle was perfect for her to take ideas from, but she hasn't imo.

And it wasn't till Sweetener where she had fanbase that had been w her for a minute, they heard the poppy pop pop pop sound for half a decade, and she switched up her sound to what she RLLY wanted to do.

hard core crazy stans are not understanding this.. yet when the numbers don’t pop up they act confused or act like the girls are being racially excluded (which is true to a certain degree) like no girl she’s making music for people who don’t buy music and for people who literally call her music “empire music” WAKE UP!!! and when people try to gently say “hey i think this is the issue and maybe we needs a rebrand” you have folks calling folks names for trying to help an artists as a fan and a member of the GP!! it’s truly sick and alot of these fans and artists wouldn’t be able to be in the eras where you were literally booed off stage

7:40 this another reason why Rihanna the 21st century queen of pop. bc she had so many VARIANTS of music each era. ur talking ab bubblegum pop, and she literally made the bubblegum pop bible in her red era in 2010 as the pioneer of that genre. i also saw someone say "she anticipated the downfall of the quality of future music n dipped at the highest point she could've."

that’s a good way to describe chloe and halle’s music. the reason i like them as a duo is that they have that alternative pop/r&b sound. i feel like they complement each other well and bring out the best in each other. also it’s possible for female artists to be sexual but not make it p0rnographic like more sensual rather than explicit lyrics, have more creative choreography, etc. even in the music video the subject matter could still be portrayed in a more creative or metaphorical way. it could be the label pushing chloe to do this, or she sees the countless of others female rappers/r&b singers that do this stuff right now, and she’s just trying to fit in. idk. i wish she incorporated some of her nerdy side in her music, too, besides the production

Can I say something without people wacking me? I feel like boy bye was cute but it’s not in the best part of her range. It sounds whiny In some places. If it was placed lower in her range it would have sounded better. That being said I really like Chloe but idk what her song choices are tbh. FYS was great and it went platinum in my phone I feel like that’s right up her ally and I’m all up for pop music like what normani does but if she’s doing that she should get writers that would utilize her potential to the fullest
